There was a fundraiser game between former habs and employees of the CN this weekend in Brossard.

I happened to be there because my son had his novice practice at the same time on the other ice.

We went over there afterwards, had the chance to chat a little with some players which was great.

Guy I was most surprised to see there was Pierre Dagenais.

now there's a guy worthy of a jersey retirement...

I saw that a few months ago while browsing for something to watch (there was nothing else). Pretty interesting.

maybe an outlook on the upcoming Laval Rocket roster?
you could also try to get in touch with some former Habs, get an interview over the phone. you're pretty at good at that. maybe Habs public relations dpmt can hook you up.

I think we’ll have a much better idea about that when we see the rookie camp and tournament as for interviews i really enjoy doing that but they are hard to get i must say.

he had one real good season, like Theodore before him.
beside that he won with the Canadian team, but really any decent goalie would have won too.
not enough to retire his number imo. HHoF sure.

- fidopro

? His run from 2014-2017 was about as good as it gets, really, and he posted a .923 in 2010-2011 with 72 appearances. He was good for most of his career. I don't think retirement worthy, but far from being a "one good season" type guy.

Hains: Does Price Deserve the Rafters?

Ever since Kent Hughes revealed that the star goaltender will once more be headed to LTIR this season, there’s been a lot of chatter about whether he deserves to have his name and number in the rafters of the Bell Center.

- Karine Hains

In Montreal, no.

If he would have played for another team, yes.

In Nashville they would have also hung his teenage rodeo 1st place ribbons

options are

If vegas really wants him now, they better make an offer that HuGo can't refuse. I don't see that happening.

Trade him by the TDL, if he is having a decent season and stays healthy, might be able to get a close to a 2nd round pick. Is it worth it, not sure but if the offers are for a 2nd round pick...I do it.

Or extend him sooner than later not to lose him next summer.

well it is possible to retire his number without considering him as "the greatest of his generation"... nuance is a thing.

For Heineman:

NHL-IIHF agreement: Before Dec.1, 2022, can't be assigned to AHL before being offered back to Leksands IF for the season (conditioning stint doesn't apply). Note: This is a one time occurance, if Leksand declines, no rules apply.

Yes to Price having his number retired.

He's an amazing player and the only thing people have against him is the fact he never won the Stanley Cup.

Something he came very close to achieving twice in his career with underwhelming teams.

Not to mention every year where he couldn't win any playoffs games where he'd let in more than 2 goals.

He'll be in the hall of fame and I god damn hope his number gets up there.

Where is Claude Provost and his 9 SC?
If SC are the only requirement he should be up there? Is he?

I agree 100%, and there's also a part of me that wants his number retired just to hear people complain or even legit get mad about it lol...

I read some people who want to retire Koivu's number.

I mean, I loved Saku when he was here...but if you retire his number, you would need to retire a bunch of others as well, including Price.
