Accountability is the favorite word of a Flyers front office that gets away with rank incompetence year after year.

Being reported that Rangers were offered a high 2nd rd pick at the draft from a non playoff team for Nils Lundkvist and that the offer is still on the table...any idea if the Flyers are involved.? Would definitely do that deal if Flyers could pull it off but doubt Fletcher is that smart |

Brad McCrimmon and Mark Howe combined for a +173 during the 85-86 season. That’s a mind blowing stat. |

2nd rounder? Can’t be the Flyers then. They didn’t have a 2nd rounder at the draft this year and don’t have any for the next two drafts.

Any idea why they want to trade him?

He's convinced he's top 4 right now and wants to be played that way. He is pushing the trade. |

Here's the deal with Tortorella. He honestly doesn't know what went on in the Flyers locker room last season. He may have the opinion of some players but he wasn't there. Who knows, maybe some of the players he spoke to are the problem. Tortorella has an M.O. He's like a drill sergeant in the marines. He is going to break down everything to the ground and build it back up the way he wants. He is going to assert his authority and try to change everything he can. With any team that has had two seasons in a row like the Flyers have. There is going to be frustration and some conflict. That is only natural. |

Are you of the opinion there are no locker room issues?

I think the biggest locker room issue is lack of talent. Correct that one issue and any other perceived issue would magically disappear.

Correct. Any perceived locker room issues are not the cause of anything. It's a symptom of what the problem is.

In saying that, do you think it is possible that multiple players are underachieving and that structure and team play can correct a portion of the talent issue?

Yep, hence my belief in the lack of trust issue. You just don't trust teammates you think aren't that good. Especially when you think you ARE good.

I don't believe that structure and team cohesiveness can do anything about talent per se but it can create a better environment where talented players can succeed and better meet their potential. If that makes sense.

Disagree. You could have a great room. All get along, all fight for each other, and give their all. Doesn't mean they will win if talent is subpar.
Can also have a great team and locker issues

Give Chuck Fletcher four years as your GM, and you'll end up with a bottom four team with a locker room full of concerns. |

My fear is that his incompetence puts the Flyers up higher in the standings with a capped out team.

Top 4 potential and run a PP but there is no room for him on Rangers team and he wants to play in NHL...requested a trade....kid is talented . |

Also a RH shot. With that potential it would be a no brainer to trade for the kid. Don't know if the Rangers would deal with the Flyers though.

Not to mention what those 2nd’s were spent on…we have a 27 yr old, physical #4 RHD for five years and a 26 yr old, offensive top-4 RHD for two years. No room.

Then you should have specified. Flyers are the forgotten red headed step child on Sports Radio in Philadelphia, they blame fans for not calling in. - WhiskeyMan Why would ANY hockey fan in his/her right mind call into any of those bozo stations and try to talk hockey with ingrates that know nothing about the game? Those stations are an utter joke! One Eagles game a week and they'll talk about the same shiiit over and over again. Low IQs will do that to folks.
