End of the line for Roussel. Future Flyer player development hire? - Minnyhock
Maybe future Minnesota Wild general manager. Worked for Bill Guerin, right? |

Many probably do not remember him on a pTO with the Flyers. |

I doubt that. Leopold is a big fan of Fletcher. Pretty sure he’ll try to pry him away from the Flyers if Guerin doesn’t work out.

Let’s stipulate that with “in the playoffs.” Might work then. |

Doesn't look like Foerster is making the team out of camp. He has a great shot and is bigger and stronger this year, and is skating better. However he still does not understand how to create space for himself and his big shot, and thus he needs time in the AHL to learn how to do that more consistently. If Foerster is not shooting, he is not adding the value this lineup desperately needs. Hopefully he can be a mid season call-up. |

He never was really. He hasnt impressed all that much at all. Unless he lights it up don't see him up with the Flyers at any point. |

I don't buy all the negativity, I understand it but don't buy it. CF actually got off to a good start with Nisk and Braun, then he moves just didn't pan out, then he got desperate, which leaders cant do. Desperate with trades like RR, Ghost etc but even those could have worked better. I don't think it was an easy situation either, Hex left him with suspect prospects, aging top end talent and the need to thread the needle to make it work, then you get Covid and flat cap. The Flyers were caught in the middle, CF was dealt and middle hand. I think all of us agree they should have rebuilt, CF owns that, all leaders should, I think he would be the first to admit it. I wont call him a Buffon etc, he was trying to build a winning team and believed he could, a team I want to win, he was wrong. I do take more issue with the most recent trades, ND and TD, he had to know Ellis and Coots were big question marks, he fully earned the lack of trust from the fanbase. Y I do like the potential upside of his picks compared to Hextalls picks, we will see.
Now there is just hope, hope the kids play and raise their value, hope the TDL is his plan, hope they get a top 3 pick, hope the cap is up 10 mil in 3 seasons, hope he nails the TDL and coming Draft.
Been a fan since the 70's, besides that decade, not much has changed, watching all the games and hoping. - wcorvette
The hope is in the kids! Fletcher openly admitted last year this team lacks top end talent, but then when top-end talent was available the Flyers could not jump on it because they had no space. Why is that? Because Fletcher decided instead to sign Risto and trade for DeAngelo. OK, so the plan must be to draft as much as possible to obtain top end talent. Well, No, because Fletcher is trading away multiple draft picks for veteran players that if they provide an impact will push the Flyers out of picking in the top 5 ot even top 10 in a very deep 2023 draft! So what is the plan to resurrect this franchise? Yes the Flyers have been hit with an astonishing number of injuries at all levels in the system, and yes, Covid had an impact, but it also had an impact to all the other teams. Chuck's hire of AV turned out to be a disaster. He basically punted on last season by not hiring a replacement for AV, and for the longest time assistant coaches for Yeo. He resigned Risto even thought Risto clearly showed last year he is not the defenseman Fletcher hoped he traded for. Ellis has not worked out. He signed Yandle who was a complete disaster. Hayes is completely overpaid. I can go on ... but personally I have seen enough. This past off-season was the final straw for me! Its time for a change. |

Well that's it, that is what this franchise has. This is what Hextall left us with and Fletcher has been unable to bring in more top-end players. Its hard to do that if you are trading 1st round picks for Risto and 2nd round picks, and picking 14th all the time. It figures the one time the Flyers get into the top 5, its a weak draft. That is why this draft is so important, and Fletcher should be doing all he can to get into the top 3! But you don't hire Torts and trade for players like DeAngelo to get into the top 3 of a draft, so we are stuck in the status quo! |

He lollygagged plenty in his own zone even during playoffs. Was always leaving his man in coverage while looking for the breakaway pass.
There used to be a poster here called BradleyC4 or something who used to complain a lot about Briere's defensive play. |
