How full was the building? Not the announced attendance, how empty or full did it look to the eyes of a non team employee in the building.

Zamula was hesitant a bit, I want to see more games played before I make a decision making a final opinion.

Torts was forced to keep Hodgson by management. As soon as Cam is ready Hodgson will sit.

Well Risto was hurt, so it was either Braun or Seeler taking those minutes.

He had a quiet game, which is good for him. None of the sloppiness he showed in preseason. Did some good work on the PP. The pair w/ Provy played well... Provy just concentrated on doing defensive stuff and he shined.

He looked fine.

Kinda obvious that Hodgson is being forced on Torts atm. He doesn't trust him.

Lot of HQ chances, but Hart stopped a lot of them, some were blocked and some shots were shanked. Devils were able to gain the blueline with impunity and attack the middle of the ice, but the Flyers were mostly collapsed around Hart and there wasn't any loose garbage for the Devs to pick up.

- Tomahawk

Correct on Hodgson and that is just silly to me though yes he will have a short shelf life. Assuming Cam is back soon. Otherwise it is gong to tax the other players as they will have to play more minutes.

Also how did Cates look at Center? I assume that is where he played.

Sucks Zamula has to be paired with Seeler for now. Having him with Braun would clearly be ideal. Both were a -1. Either ones fault on the goal?

Hodgson seemed to struggle when he got on the ice….pretty tough with not even 5 minutes of ice time to make any impact. I liked Zamula’s game. No reason this kid isn’t in the top 6 every night.

Said this yesterday, my guess the organization bought a lot of the tickets and gave them away. Every radio station was giving free tickets out, a lot of them.

Cates looked good.

Neither dman was at fault for the Severson goal. They played a really passive dzone coverage and it was a shot from the outside, from a bad angle that went top cheese.

Yep, one of those games that happens every now and then. Blackwood sucked. If the Flyers continue to play that way, it won't go well for them.
- MJL

Yeah, the way they sit back in the dzone isn't gonna work against most teams. They're gonna get picked apart. Granted it's a work in progress and all that.

Still, the effort level was there.

To me, excluding last nights game, Zamula needs NHL minutes. Needs to learn to process the NHL game as well as adjust to the speed. Do not want him sent down unless he just shows he cant play. Live with his mistakes and let him learn. If he can turn into a quality bottom pair dman you hit a home run.

Honestly not sure how much more time the AHL will help.

Torts really wanted him on the team (Ep. 4, The Standard), so I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon.

When RR gets healthy it'll be Attard going down.

Agree, Attard should be down in the AHL getting ice time, not sitting in the press box.

Just wish Zamula had a little more weight on him.

“Someone’s failures” the guy has been worshiped like a god for years despite being an absolute phony. Not to mention making millions of dollars. But I get it you have his jersey so the fanboy in you can’t be objective

Agree. Rather have Attard play over Seeler at this point as well.

Dunno, York doesn't look lost when he's up, but it's also not like he's too good for the AHL or anything. I'd like to see him get to a dominant level there, then carry that swagger forward.

Here is the thing, what is a dominate level for him? He isn't going to be this high point producing player imo.

He looked fine in his 30 game stint last season. Though it looks like the left side is crowded. So it comes down to him or Zamula at the moment.

Was Zamula on the right side last night?

Left, on a pair w/ Seeler.

I don't think York is gonna be a huge point guy either, but he needs to prove that he can actually be an offensive catalyst and play driver. "Attack the game" as Torts says.

Being #1 dman in LHV gives him a chance to show he can do that.

(and Zamula is a better 3LD candidate anyway, w/ his reach and experience)

Didn’t see the game. Looking at the box score only. Playing Braun over 18 minutes is not going to work unless it is on occasion. Recipe for disaster.

Tony D with the most minute on D. Any thoughts, opinion, or observations there?

Zamula. Any thoughts, opinion, or observations there?

Hodgson 4 minutes will also not work. 1.7 per for 9 minute Nic.

Devils had a lot of shots. Where they of quality or high danger shots?

- furio16

Boosted by 4+ minutes of PP Time. Equal strength he was behind Provy and Sanheim in TOI.

I didn’t ask how many tickets radio stations gave away. I asked how full the building looked to a person who was actually there, preferably a person who isn’t employed by the team.

The Flyers won. Good on them. I do not think they played particularly well. The effort was there for sure. They are not very talented though.

Hart had a weird game. Both goals were clunkers but he made a bunch of tough saves. I will chalk it up to not playing in the preseason. I thought the PK was good. PP was ok. The Devils drove play at 5 on 5.
