What do you care what CG does? Why would you celebrate someoneās failure that otherwise proved to be a solid player?
In actuality it says more about you. |

For the young flyers players Iām happy to see them win. As a long time fan admittedly I was hoping for a loss.
My immediate fandom wants to see wins while my realistic fandom wants a number one pick. |

Got in late from prior commitments tonight and couldn't watch the game even if it was on, but I find it a travesty that this game wasn't broadcast locally. I mean, your home opener isn't on local TV? I'd think the head hanchos at Comcast could throw their weight around and bully ESPN in this case. Let's see, the two Philly stations showed a goof ball NFL fantasy show and the world wide sports of POKER. WTF!! This is an epic joke by those in charge! Eff Gary Buttman! |

āSomeoneās failuresā the guy has been worshiped like a god for years despite being an absolute phony. Not to mention making millions of dollars. But I get it you have his jersey so the fanboy in you canāt be objective |

The Flyers played a very soft game while he and Voracek were the faces of the franchise. If they somehow play much tougher this season I will be even more skeptical of Giroux. They have had a country club atmosphere for years under several different coaches. Giroux only wanted to go to Florida when he was traded. Then he takes the money and runs to play in his hometown of Ottawa. If he REALLY wanted to win a Cup why would he sign in Ottawa? They are a young and improving team, but they ain't winning a Cup before he retires. Hmmmmmm....... |

Well said. Sadly most will always make excuses for him. No objectivity |

I thought I heard the PA announcer say it was Tanners 1st NHL goal on the empty netter?
Did official scorers change this after? |

Yes Frost got it. Devils player knocked it in and Frost was last to touch it.

Frost, Prov, Allison and K were beasts and yes things like hitting and blocked shots still matter in this league.
Allison along the wall in the final stages was awesome. |

Face it, youāre a hater. And, when you are chortling over the first game of the season, youāre not a very smart one. |

Wins will be few and far between this season, so if you want to go nuts, go nuts. I'm good with it.
Wasn't pretty a lot of times but Torts loves his shot blocking and that they did. |

Flyers cashed in on opportunities and got much better goaltending.
Otherwise, the Devils thoroughly outplayed them for much of the game. All the hits and blocks were a function of the Devils having the puck so much. |

Didnāt see the game. Looking at the box score only. Playing Braun over 18 minutes is not going to work unless it is on occasion. Recipe for disaster.
Tony D with the most minute on D. Any thoughts, opinion, or observations there?
Zamula. Any thoughts, opinion, or observations there?
Hodgson 4 minutes will also not work. 1.7 per for 9 minute Nic.
Devils had a lot of shots. Where they of quality or high danger shots?

Well Risto was hurt, so it was either Braun or Seeler taking those minutes.

He had a quiet game, which is good for him. None of the sloppiness he showed in preseason. Did some good work on the PP. The pair w/ Provy played well... Provy just concentrated on doing defensive stuff and he shined.
Zamula. Any thoughts, opinion, or observations there? - furio16
He looked fine.

Kinda obvious that Hodgson is being forced on Torts atm. He doesn't trust him.

Lot of HQ chances, but Hart stopped a lot of them, some were blocked and some shots were shanked. Devils were able to gain the blueline with impunity and attack the middle of the ice, but the Flyers were mostly collapsed around Hart and there wasn't any loose garbage for the Devs to pick up. |

Zamula was hesitant a bit, I want to see more games played before I make a decision making a final opinion.
Torts was forced to keep Hodgson by management. As soon as Cam is ready Hodgson will sit.

Yep, one of those games that happens every now and then. Blackwood sucked. If the Flyers continue to play that way, it won't go well for them.

Watched until the 4-1 goalā¦.thought the effort was there. Did get hemmed in quite a bit by the devils, but the structure appeared to hold up much better in comparison to a lot of games last year.
Hart after a leaky first goal settled in, which was great to see. A very positive start to see the guys that we are hoping score actually did. |
