There are quite a few pieces of pretty crucial contextual information that you're missing. The Flames' two games were against the two teams that many people have to win their division and three (four?) of the top five players in the league. The three teams Vegas played are all somewhere between meh and awful. The Flames also dominated early in both of their games and got out to huge leads. It's natural that they took their foot off the gas a bit. When the Oilers looked like they had life, the Flames floored it again and dominated the third.

While I agree that Vegas will be one of the top three in the Pacific if the goaltending holds up, they aren't better than the Flames. I know you were trying to be punny, but the Flames are absolutely the favourites tonight.

Hey man, oddsmakers are agreeing with you. The Flames are the -160 favourites. Not sure I agree though. Those two goalies have shut down the Flames hard in the recent past.

One of those wins for the Knights was a 4-3 win over the Kings. I would argue that the Kings are better than the Oilers with Jack Campbell on a bad night or the Avs on a back to back where they arrived at their hotel at 4am the night prior.

And one of Vegas' wins was 1-0 against a team doing everything they can to draft first overall, who also played in Colorado the night before.

I agree that Vegas is better than most are giving them credit for, but with how quickly the Flames have seemed to come together, there isn't a team in the league that I think should be favourites over the Flames when the game is in Calgary. Not huge favourites, but if the Flames play up to their potential, they can and should beat anyone.

Flames are a deep skilled team and as long as both goalies play to full potential we could go on a serious run !!!

Thanks Trevor.
Flames are short a few Swedes, Nylander fits that bill. Heard Bruins were interested in Hanifin, but Tre was asking for Pasta. Don’t think this is as huge an overpayment as Bruins fans think.
Does this mean Mackey is playing tonight?

Sounds like he’s drawing in. Not ideal to need maintenance days after two games, but it is what it is.

Flames looking solid other than the two Markstrom Muffins. Sutter didn't look too happy lol. Good W over the Golden Showers.

Marky...
Its a good thing its still early, man those would be series killers. Ok, I now get Sutter's Huberdeau passer comment. How the hell he saw those pass ops blows my mind.
I was at the bar and they had the Oilers game on a screen beside the Flames game. Man does Nurse look like a nervous AHL call-up. Good thing he's on such a reasonable contract.
