Ben Shelley: Islanders fall flat in loss to Devils

I didn’t watch much of the game last night. And what I saw was the push toward the end of the game, which was meh. I’m gonna add this to the10-15 game sample and try not to hold too much weight on this game, similar to the nice couple of wins that preceded this game. We’ll see where we stand in a month or so and go from there. I will say I was pleasantly surprised with the sharks and ducks games. So hopefully they can get back to something similar to that style soon. I like what LL has implemented thus far.

The NHL has relented and will allow the Islanders to play a road game. Maybe we can start winning again. Finally.

This kid may in fact be legit. Lets see how he progresses against men.

Not going to lie, I had the Isles beating the Devils as part of my 6-3 this month. If this team is truly legit as management has indicated. They need to get back on the horse and ride.

It will be interesting to see what changes Lambert makes as he alluded to some changes coming.

They need to be much better tonight. I want to see them ready to go from the first drop. They win then all is better but if they continue the lazy uninspired play of last game I will be very disappointed. Every team has a bad night but the good teams have few and get back to winning ways quickly. Tough test for lane early on.

Guess we will find out a lot about this team over next 6 games.

Yup saw that Vukota. Raty got the apple.

I just like that he is willing to sit a vet, not Bailey in particular. Like you said it sends a message to the whole team, not just Bailey.

I didn't see the last game so I don't know how Bailey played.
