Thank Gawd Cliffy is going to be in the lineup! If the Leafs weren’t built so soft they wouldn’t have to get the crystal ball out and try and guess which games they need toughness.
And another thing!! I’ve heard a number of players on other teams in interviews lately, mention how they love playing in Toronto! Other teams should hate coming to Toronto! That needs to change. Let’s start knocking some teeth out!

As the great pontificator Skalapy says: "this team is filled with soft as slime, pencil necks".

We could definitely use one or two tough players with talent. IMHO.

Just checking in yet to see if we've traded Auston Matthews yet.

Yah, he's only making $4.5M a season - I'm sure the Leafs could unload a high pay pencil neck and replace him with a 30 point a season 3rd liner.

I've hated the softness of this team for a long time but definitely after PLDubois ragged dolled Matthews and NOTHING happened.

(frank)ing hate that.

Darcy Tucker type, Matthews, Marner
Wendell type, JT, Nylander

(frank) YA!!!

Unlike you guys I am not prepared to believe he’ll sign again with the leafs without question.

When his contract is up, JT, Marner, and Nylander will be the only notable players left, their D will be down to Rielly, Sandin, and Liljegren (if the last two even resign with the leafs), no notable goaltending, an extremely questionable bottom 6, and Matthews is literally from the opposite side of the continent and every team in the league will pay him what he wants.

Not to mention he’ll be a bit older and might start desiring a more private life… it’s not like he hangs in Canada during the off-season.

Hope I’m wrong but I won’t be surprised if I’m right.

Bunting has that style but Robertson is only a top 6 guy. So if you like him give up on having a rough 2nd line because he’s not a bottom 6 type at all.

I think you are wrong. Not only do I believe Matthews will re-sign, when JT agrees to a Spezza type deal and moves to 3rd line C, McDavid will be happy to join the Leafs and their fat bankroll. Good times are coming.

That’s a fantasy. Both Matthews and McDavid will be 16 million dollar guys, Marner will bump up, so will Nylander and even JT will be still looking for 5 or 6 million. He won’t take the league minimum when he’s still at the age of 35 not 38-39 so he’s still going to want a decent payment.

But seriously, Matthews and McDavid won’t play for the same team, they’re both the exact same position (1st line C).

I sincerely won’t be shocked if Matthews heads out and McDavid signs with the leafs. As long as they can land one of the two.

Like I said tho, when Matthews’ contract is up the leafs will have alot of question marks regarding their starting lineup so I won’t be shocked if he heads out whatsoever.

JT has enough money, he will want a cup more than money. He will sign a very team friendly deal just as Bergeron and Krejci did. He has more love for TO than either of those have for the Bruins. As for Matthews. The GM will sign him (maybe with an out clause after say 2 years) And it is hard to imagine that McDavid won't want to sign with the Leafs. When the ping pong ball went the Oilers way, Connor definitely looked like he had bitten into a giant piece of poop.

Don't tell anybody but I'm super stoked. A nice 90's style rumble will be good for the room and for my entertainment.

No offence but there’s literally no proof of this. It’s not more than a leaf fan’s fantasy.
