1. Leads us in scoring.
2. Is right on track for ~131 point season.

Bill, with all of the Phillies and Eagles success the Flyers excellent start is obviously flying under the radar...is this combo of Hart and Torts leading a scrappy young team for real? Its been fun to see for a beaten up old timer like me.

I didn't see this team starting the season like this

Happy to ride it for what its worth, the kids have been fun to watch so far. Adjustments to be made but still a great start.

Flyers was 13th when they moved up to "win" Nolan Patrick. Flyers luck can not be so bad that they pick another headcase "no pun intended"

Wright’s draft class was never thought of the way this one has been.

Of course they could all be busts, but the hockey nerddom has been fawning over this class for a hot minute.

Yes, but I seem to recall a year or so before the draft that 2022 was going to be a great draft and 2023 even better. Folks lowered expectations as the last draft drew closer.

Dunno about all that, but he truly is a joy to watch.

Zac Mac, in less minutes, has a higher ppg than one Morgan Frost.

Its a long season, so I for one have been enjoying watching this team compete and winning some of these early games. Especially because I can see the writing on the wall, specifically:

Hart with a 950 save percentage
Flyers 3rdin the league in Goals Against, 11
Flyers 7th in the league in shots against per game, 34 shots
Flyers last in the league in FO % at only 38%
Flyers 27th in the league in shots for per game, 27 shots
Flyers xGF 8.4, league average 11.2
Flyers xGA 11.4, league average 11.2
Corsi For 38%

So in other words, the only reason the Flyers are winning right now is Carter Hart is playing out of this world! The Flyers might win tonight against a bad San Jose team, but water will find its level eventually. So enjoy it while it lasts!

I don’t think it’s a surprise to see an early season bump with a new, demanding coach and a younger roster looking to prove themselves after last season’s debacle. I’ll be interested to see if they can sustain this the longer this season goes.

I mean, I can tell you why Hart is doing so well. I used to keep 2 goalies on my fantasy team, and I let Hart go so that I could pick up a more steady source of scoring.
