Better sort the PK out pretty damn soon, guaranteed giving up at least one per game.
PP at least doesn’t look hopeless, but they can’t cash one in, idk.
They better get their poop together before the Sabres leave them behind |

I wish.
Try not to think of how last playoffs might’ve gone if he was behind the bench. I’m pretty freaking certain the PP wouldn’t have gone 0 for April with no adjustments being made.

Yeah they will. The defense has been better than most expected, part of that is the forwards being more defensively aware. Definitely not as gung ho pressing the attack this season. Barkov will start to score and Rhino will stop missing glorious chances (or getting robbed). The PP will at least match what the PK gives up, and they do well at 5v5.
Q always talked about playing with pace (and playing “right way” without the puck, which maybe Bruno didn’t enforce if/when defensive effort lagged.)
the main word I hear coming from Panthers players’ interviews so far this year seems to be “grinding”.
They could be champions if/when they combine the two.

I truly can't believe that we're 10 games into the new season and the power play isn't fixed yet. 2 coaching staffs, 8 months, new players, and yet it still sucks. Now the PK is screwed up too.
Maurice is looking pretty disappointing. I thought a coach with 20 years of head coaching experience would have a power play strategy in his back pocket and would do better than the guy who had no previous HC experience.
The power play and penalty kill are not just ineffective, they're actually momentum killers for the 5v5 game.
When they said they wanted to play playoff hockey, I thought they were talking about a physical game with good defense emphasis -- NOT the Panthers' playoff performance and stretching the 0-for-all power play across the full season.
Zito needs to step in and force some adjustments or toss an assistant coach overboard. What I'm seeing is unacceptable. This team has too much talent to be falling down all over the ice like this.

They’re controlling play every game @ 5v5 (except Boston?), but aren’t scoring like they should be. That and the struggling special teams has them a .500 team right now. Everything is just not quite good enough right now. Ekblad back will help, Rhino working it out with his sticks, or Jobu or whatever he has to do to start finding the net will help. Need more Barky, too.
Looks like Zito found another good waiver pick up in Mahura.

The “grinding” comment is interesting because I hear the players saying it, too. But I don’t really see them as a grinding team. Sure, they added some “muckers” in a sense, but they’re not playing a true grinding style like I think the Blackhawks have been playing more of. Chicago is playing a greasy game and it’s been working for them given their situation. |

I guess compared to last year’s team, they are grinding |

Totally. Last year was trying to play skill/finesse. There’s more “grinding” this year (which I prefer) in comparison.
