All the crying about racism would be held in some sort of actual regard, if it actually wasn't just directed at blaming one side, when everyone does it.

It’s about power, and silencing people. Nothing more.

Unfortunately that term means little in 2022. It really has imo. Which is not good.

If Fletcher and the old guard were shown the door today, and boy do they deserve it, would this fan base be patient enough to deal with the growing pains? I don’t think so. If I remember correctly, when Hextall was fired, his drafts picks didn’t materialize but this team was not saddled with too many long contracts and I believe they were well under the cap. Now we have both and not in a good way. Knowing draft picks need time to mature, even if they’re smart and good picks, gonna take quite a few years to get out from under the avalanche of bad deals with bad players. It will seem that the new regime is just treading water for most of that time. I’m sure, just as in the past, most will be screaming for “Go time” with the new picks. To me this season is “ Go Time” for the management to get a head start while some of our division foes are showing their age. Meanwhile they’re digging themselves deeper.
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving fellas.

Same to you. Yes I think 99% will be on board with it.

I don't know for a fact what Ovechkin said but there are reasons why someone like him would say that. Even if he feels differently. Not really a subject to get into any further on here.

Correct. Thanks for steering the conversation in another direction. Politics never end up well on the internet.

I'm just deleting posts that mention racism right now. Let's just steer away from it completely. yes I know the TDA info isn't meant to stir the pot but too many people can't help themselves.

Hypothetically if this was blown to smithereens,
could the rebuild be any worse off then the sum of these parts?

With the upcoming two top-end deep’ish drafts I hope they continue to pile up the loses. Hate me all you want, but this team needs a rebuild. It’s stale. Fletcher needs to be terminated and a housecleaning is in order. Kevin Hayes might currently have the worst contract in the National Hockey League.

Coming from a leaf fan, I think more fans would be patient than we sometimes think. I think it comes from knowing exactly what the plan is so you're right that management needs to figure their poop out. Once they do and set those expectations, I think the fan base would be patient.

Any thoughts/opinion on the Ivan and Tony D pairing? IMO they don't loo all that in sync or working that well together. Tony D also playing too many minutes imo.

Would you break it up? If so what would you try pairing wise? Thanks. Have a great thanksgiving.

- furio16

It's all a part of the undercover, unadmitted, not really happening tank that they are silently pulling off. Just go with it and hope for a top 3 pick. That's the most hope that we have this season

Also.... let's hope Tippett continues to play like he has. If the kids develop and we still get a top 3 pick then this is a success and the best possible outcome for this piss poor managed franchise

Why delete? What purpose does that serve?

Article I posted was a legit article from a legit source. Not sure what it was deleted.

Agreed. This team has been mediocre to bad for a decade. I think most fans would be onboard with a complete tear down and rebuild. But, for the love of God, Cuck, Fatso and the feeble four need to be let go first or it’s it’s all just pointless.

Deslauriers safe for 2 years with his exclusive NTC. 😁 But he is just the top of flyers gigantic iceberg of overpaid players, anchors and lackluster younger talent.

When talking about playoff teams that want a "rental" keep in mind that refers to an upcoming free agent. We have too many guys with term. JvR, Brown, Sedlak are the ones that are UFA at end of year. There may be others. Risto, Sanheim, TK, HYes we're stuck with unless someone makes a crazy trade.

Evolving Hockey’s Goals Above Replacement model has Reaves costing his team 2.6 points in the standings since 2021-22. Only Christian Fischer and Nic D are worse. Wild gave up a 3rd for Nic and a 5th for Reaves. A 5th of whiskey would have been fair. Some teams don’t learn.

The game tying goal was on Frost and Deangelo. Mostly on Frost.

Hayes is a dog, but Boston is going to trade for him with retained salary by the Flyers.

Never underestimate the need for the Bruins to get a local kid on their roster. Trust me!

Certainly don’t disagree. To me it’s quite simple. How much worse could this team be by going through a rebuild? Miss playoffs? Several double digit losing streaks per year? It would constitute a plan which on top of losing like crazy and not icing a watchable product, is sorely lacking.

And it doesn’t matter that Sanheim has shown he can be an ok middle pairing D man…but the contract now makes him a toxic asset that’s way over valued. The Flyers just have way to many of those….
- landros 2

I think its like a nervous tick for Fletcher, he just has to hand out ridiculous contracts to marginal players. I have a feeling the crap is going to hit the fan between Torts and Fletcher's staff if it hasn't already.

Think about what Torts said last night after the game, its a basic coverage play that they go over again and again and they still screwed it up. These are supposedly professional players that have played hockey their entire life practically, and yet they can't get a simple coverage right according to Torts. At some point the conversation has to happen .. something like "Guys .. what the hell is going on with you that you developed, signed or traded for this collection of clowns!". This is now the 3rd coach in 2 seasons that has basically said the same type of things. Can all the coaches be wrong?

Bergeron, Krejci and Coyle are better centers. Nosek is a solid 4th line C and a better fit than Hayes. I don’t see him as an upgrade on wing even with 50% retained.

Mediocrity is marching on unabated. At what point does Fletcher face the music for all of his terrible decisions as GM. Bad drafting, bad free agent signings, bad extensions, poor player development, and bad coaching decisions all lead to this. We saw it with Hexy and we are seeing it now. Apparently this is acceptable in this organization and could continue for another decade. Someone needs to buy the Flyers that actually cares about the team.

I’ve been reading this site for well over five years and I’ve never seen Aaron 85 before a couple weeks ago.

He evidently deleted one of my posts that correctly referenced Tony DeAngelo’s disciplinary history, yet I can’t delete Aaron 85 posts. Why?

They haven't looked good recently. I could make an argument Provorov was almost as guilty for the game tying goal as Frost. He(Provorov) looked to be puck watching.
