Bill, obviously no summer or training camp for summer and with the injuries piling up it would be tough to do. I’ve mentioned this earlier in the season but would it be best to give him a week off and just practice? He looks lost out there and nothing like himself.

I also thought Bellows looked good last night. He seemed more in the play, skated well. Getting tough to watch some of these games. The lack of high end skill is a failure of management and is really beyond comprehension. The injury card is getting old, although understandable for some short periods, this is now well beyond that. The losing streaks over the last couple of seasons are an embarrassment.

Referring to Farabee?

I agree that he hasn't looked like himself. But he does have four points in his last five games, so hopefully that's a start. His shift-in/ shift-out sharpness is not up to its usual standards stlll.

Sharpness is not up to usual standards and neither are his line mates.

Is this bottom feeder garbage? Rationalize how Fletcher is still the GM of this dumpster fire.

Yes. Hayes also has a ton of points but I wouldn’t say is playing well. Was never going to be an easy season for Farabee but it’s taking him quite a bit to get going

He spent a lot of time with Hayes and TK earlier. Three of his points in the current four-game stretch have come with Frost and Tippett. That line has been all over the map so far -- great one game, lousy the next, a roller coaster ride the third -- but at least there's some potential there.

Is Farabee a guy that’s ever driven play on a line both before and for this year?

I don't want to say that I think Konecny was "carrying" Hayes' production because that's not fair or quite accurate. But I will say that Hayes' points have masked a lot of so-so play otherwise.

Agreed on both Bellows and the excuses. Injuries happen to everyone you need to adjust and pull from the reserves, which management has done a piss poor job of supplying. I think upwards of a third of the team are waiver wire fodder, college FAs or low-level FA. That is an indictment of the management. They are also paying $7MM to a 1C that in reality is a 3C at best. It seems everyone on the roster is paid 2-3 million more than they deserve, which has been a hallmark of one Bobby Clarke regardless of who the GM is.

Hayes has been a very frustrating player to watch and surely benefited to TKs strong start

That’s the only positives I’m getting these days…I see potential in a lot of their group. Really all we can hope for at this point is some of these guys bust through. I think this is why fans clamour for guys like York and Forester….it’s the potential. We already know what a Scott Laughton brings….we already know what Travis Sanheim’s ceiling is.

I don’t think he’s ever soley driven a line and that’s not really what’s in question here. He’s a good forechecker with puck skills and a high IQ, makes plays, decent shot. He’s not doing much of anything right now. He’s a step behind.

I don’t know about you but I long for the days of Clarke…besides that last year he always kept the Flyers relevant and competitive. They are now neither.

Probably the truth, he’s more of a guy that can be part of a great line….he’s just not the guy that’s going to make the line. I mean as Bill pointed out, while playing with Konecny (our current most skilled forward)there were glimpses.

Any thoughts/opinion on the Ivan and Tony D pairing? IMO they don't loo all that in sync or working that well together. Tony D also playing too many minutes imo.

Would you break it up? If so what would you try pairing wise? Thanks. Have a great thanksgiving.

I sure hope Gauthier can make it in the NHL at center. They have such limited skill and no organizational depth in the organization. There will continue to be no offensive punch from the Flyers this seaaon.

He has a ntc correct? I’m sure he’d waive it but what team would take him unless we retained salary? I can’t see him going anywhere with these factors.

There is no center depth at all in the system. None. 4 -1st rd center fops will kill an organization.

They cant even produce a 4th line center over the last 2 GM's tenure. That is unreal. Poor drafting and development. Yet no wholesale changes across the board in either area.

The pressure that will be on Cutter to make it as a center will be unreal. I hope the organization doesn't just keep him there because of their incompetence. If he is a better winger then keep him at wing.

Re: Hayes

Remember when Torts was hired and talked about looking forward to coming to Philly to meet with Hayes who 'could be the key guy' or leader or something like that?
Well I think he's seen enough that Hayes ain't getting any C or A. Yes, the team is not good, but Hayes has gotten all the all situation play time any center could dream of, and mostly looks lost. From captain material to not even being good enough to play center.
Please oh please stop putting him out there in overtime.
