Pretty sure Dubas did fleece him, because Dubas phoned Timmins’ mom and asked her how many times he had mono. And Soo Greyhounds, so we win.
I don’t even think Douglas is an AHL player anymore - he seriously sucks. He keeps getting chances to play in the AHL because he is tall. - Atomic Wedgie
But you cant teach tall.

Of course. He has potential.
But for now its not an "amazing steal" of a trade IMO.
Could be in time though.
For now, nice trade for sure as we get a depth D guy once he's no longer injured.
Like I said, hoping it becomes a steal for Dubie. - Fakepartofme
agreed
I evaluate the trade differently, I choose Timmins over Douglas 100 times out of 100 |

Positivity or realism for a 24 year old coming off an AHL stint while being injured almost his entire professional career? |

Schenn and JVR weren't in their 30's. It was a huge one for one deal. Neither were what either team hoped for. Though JVR gave some good years. - AdamFrench
JVR on the PP was money in front of the net. I like JT in the bumper spot, but JVR parked there was almost immovable. |

Around here if you say anything positive you end up having to defend yourself. Why do you think this thread went from being Eklund’s golden goose to what it is now? |

Timmins may be a bottom pairing guy at best, and I do hope his injury issues are a thing of the past, but Gabriel was not going to get a chance on the Leafs roster anytime soon.
I don't mind the deal at all. Worst case, it's an AHL deal. |

You should be knocking Douglas.
One assist this year in 13 AHL games.
He’s never going to play in the NHL. - Atomic Wedgie
Still early. I havent followed him so admittedly i dont know enough to speak intelligently about him.
But the reports ive seen over the last year were that he was a project that was acrually progressing well.
But you cant keep all your prospects. Anf given the choice, i choose timmins over douglas 8 days a week. |

2-3 years ago Colorado had Makar-Timmins as their number 1 pair.
Just 2 years ago he was a big piece for ARZ in the Kuemper trade and was ranked 6th on their top 25 under 25.
The potential is there, with all the injuries they have an opportunity to play him and try and develop him.
Douglas was cool to have but he has been far behind too many Marlies this season who are playing well. - Santo_44
Perhaps Makar was looking forward to playing with Timmins and this is all part of a bigger plan. |

Oh no, I didn't realize Salming's passing was so imminent! Salming got me into hockey as a little boy. Rest in peace. |

It’s funny but Friedman nailed this deal in his 32 thoughts earlier in the week. It’s a risk free trade for us because we didn’t give up anything. Nothing against Gabriel but he’s probably not going to play in the nhl. |
