I concur. These GMs need to have a come to Jesus meeting for these overpayments. Kane is a rental, why give up some that has 15 years ahead of them and likely the cornerstone on the backend.

Severson would be a solid loss for the Devils this year and not a huge gain for the Hawks. Why not keep Severson and the first and instead make it Holtz and Luke Hughes or Holtz and Nemec for Kane - Hawkeynation
NJD do not need another small player. although giving up Holtz and Severson is not bad. and the #1 we are stocked.
but He is 34 yrs old .... Go younger with someone who fits the team age along with needs If trading a prospect , Player and #1 pick.
So you've had this rumour for a few days at an E4 level. During that time you:
-posted about Luke Schenn to the Leafs
-posted about Puljujarvi being traded
-posted about Tolvanen being claimed on waivers
-didn't update the rumour chart
Maybe next time you have an E4 on a guy like Kane that could make that a priority update. If true then you nailed it. You said from the beginning that NJ had interest in Kane...although so did NYI, NYR, Colorado, Boston, Tampa, Edmonton, Carolina, NYI, Buffalo, Philly, NYI, LA, Nashville, and even Chicago. Nailed it.
the owner of Holtz in my Keeper League, I initially recoiled at this rumor - but I'm not sure Holtz will be in the Top-6 for quite some time... He will be in Chicago, though!
