Exactly, that’s a point I made last night. Go and play like that against Toronto
- ClaudeFather

I agree with this but I think as we view games we need more context. It is just not putting up point vs better teams, it is how they play in that game vs how the team plays. Team play will drag player play. If the D gets caved in, that will affect the O, having Braun making outlet passes is going to be a bigger drag vs a better team. You also had the BJ's announcers referring to the Frost line as the #1 line, we know it really is the Cates line or is it, we don't have one is the real answer. What is also true, teams when preparing to play the Flyers, will match up vs the Frost line. I like that from a growth perspective, this year if both Frost and Tippett can keep taking small steps forward it will be really good for the team going forward, especially if they can add a real #1 line, at least to the point, where you could slot the Frost line and get better matchups. Even Cates, I feel he is a better winger, I think he would have more points being on wing but I am also happy he is learning center and becoming a better player, I get what torts see's, Cates is a very smart player.

It was crazy that so many Flyer fans on twitter spent all last season blaming TK for the state of the team. He's easily their best offensive player.

Now we just need Farabee to get back on track and we may have something

Farabee is doing well at ES. He has just had no luck at all on the PP.

He's been playing this way since Claude was traded. Classic case of stepping up. It's all TK.

Nice!! Either way, I'm glad to see him on this level

Really good decision to start him in the AHL and let his confidence and game get back together. Frost and Tippett both getting the most consistent ice time in the top 9 they’ve ever received. TK showing some serious maturity with how he’s handled this season. Some development going on here.
- ClaudeFather

Really bad decision to leave him in the AHL in November when the Flyers lost 10 games in a row playing Braun, Seeler and Ristolainen every night.

Braun and Risto now have combined for 0 points in 57 games.

Tippett has also looked good IMO, especially escaping that CBJ player near the blue line for his give-and-go goal.

Im waiting for the announcement that Farabee needs surgery to correct the surgery he had over the summer.

Any of you play ECHL on NHL23?

Are any of you on discord and actually have to talk to these people (kids) who actually talk like they’re in a dressing room, on real ice and approaching this video game as if it’s real life hockey.

- SuperSchennBros

I bet its a lot of Canadian kids playing.

That Canadian kid Morgan Frost is playing pretty good

Really enjoying York's play. Don't think it will be much longer until he is a consistent 20+ minute Dman
- Trox88

I think sending him down really helped his game as a pro.

Really wish Hayes would have reacted more like TK to being benched. Take some responsibility and try to improve. His "I don't know why I was benched" routine is annoying. I'd rather he was pissed off than this placid victim routine. I really think Torts is just trying to see if the guy has a pulse.
Agreed. Didn't help matters he had Yandle chirping Torts on Twitter. That's the difference right there. Torts isn't looking for guys who are just playing for a pay check. He knows we need people to lift the team, be an impact. Yandle didn't do that either. In fact, his iron man quest brought the team down. No one player should be more important than the team.
Torts methods may grate on people, but at least you know what he's striving for. Not going to get there by laying back.

And that’s why I said go and play like that against Toronto, not go put up points. Team plays obviously affects things overall but frost and Tippett have not shown much consistency this year. Frost more so lately but Tipp has really been up and down all year. There is no top line on this team.

Unfortunately that game has been a cash grab since 2015. But yeah some of those online leagues house some of the biggest tryhards.

I still stand by scratching Yandle when they chose to do so what ridiculous. The season was over at that point. How about scratching the guy early in the season, when the Flyers were still in the playoff race and the guy was offering very little.

True at times, the optimist can find things that both have done, even in games vs good teams. Frost makes small subtle plays to get the puck, break up a play or other positive plays during a game, things not really seen on the scoresheet. I like his hockey IQ, he can keep progressing, the kid should end between a 3 and 2C. You hope the game continues to slow down for him. Tip, some games he has vanished but overall he is a positive in most games, good hockey IQ with good natural skills.

I don't think it is a coincidence that since Torts let them play together they are both progressing, good move but he should have started the season that way. When JVR goes, I would not mind seeing Allison on that line, as long as he gets his game back on the right track

Owen Tippett is two points away from his career high in a lot less games. We should all be very happy with Tippett’s play and the steps he’s made to stay a first time NHL regular even on a bad team.

big, can skate, shoot, really good skill, former 1st round pick and progressing, nothing bad about that story, kind of the player we fans have been asking for.

He’s actually a really fast kid for his size. They’ll always be bumps in the road but for the most part, I have zero issue with Tippett. I’m more so pleasantly surprised.

Part of torts role here is to separate those bought in/ with potential from those not. If Tippett frost tk York keep progressing and we get bee back producing and some progress from Allison, it could be the beginnings of something. Sanheim seems to be playing better now as well. More ice time for the kids the better here.

Further, I still think we stay the course with hart and sandy. The team gives them very little help at all but to me they’ve been solid despite poor records.

I like our young wingers Konency, Farabee and Tippett. Our defense I think is heading in a decent direction. I love Carter Hart. My concern is the center position. We need to improve the center position.

Yes. I was worried about what we had for a bit but he’s progressing nicely. I guess I’m just impatient and should know that it really takes time for even first rounders to develop into what they are going to be.

He’s a first time regular and he’s coming along nicely. We should be happy.
