Thank you for making my point. Different players are on different levels. Players develop differently and develop at different rates. Some players need AHL time, some don't some jump right in at a high level, some don't. On and on. What does that say about your comment that Keller plays with scrubs in the Frost conversation? It says that statement doesn't make much sense.
By he way, Keller doesn't play with scrubs. He regularly plays with Schmaltz, Chychrun and Gostisbehere. - MJL
My comment about Keller is very simple to understand. You notice Keller every single shift he is on the ice. Keller stands head and shoulders above his line mates, and I find it comical that you left our Travis Boyd (only 13 points this season). Last season and at the start of this season, Frost was invisible for the most part, even when playing with lesser talented players. Its only until recently that he has started to really become noticeable. Yes, he is developing, thank you for making my point! And Torts deserves a lot of credit for getting Frost to this point in his development! As Torts stated yesterday, Frost is still an unknown because there is a concern he will not keep this up. He has a cloud over him that he alone owns because of his inconsistent play over the past 2 or so seasons. Its up to Frost to finally clear that away by playing at this level and higher as this season moves on. |

Your statement on Keller was an attempt to basically say if Keller can produce with scrubs than why can't Frost. As I pointed out, development is not the same for every player. Your statement on Keller did not make sense.
Tortorella retarded Frost's growth and held him back at the beginning of the year by using him as he did.

This hot take deserves to be bookmarked - Tomahawk
If Farabee never scores 30 goals in a season it will be because of injuries. He scored 20 goals in 55 game in his 2nd season as a 20 year old.
Also you can be a pretty damn good player only scoring 20-25 goals and adding 30-40 assists.

Again, with Frost not playing with vigor and was not ready to play in the top 6. Again, with why people can't see something. Why not? Because Tortorella said so? LOL. Frost showed in a large chunk of games last season that he was ready to step forward and take a bigger chunk. Tortorella ignored that sample of games in the same way he ignored it for York. It was a mistake to send York down. He should've been with the Flyers the entire season. Tortorella is incorrectly using Cates. He is not a center. He does not carry the puck well nor is he a distributor of the puck. Cates strengths are as a forechecking winger and in the role of F1 on the forecheck. Crashing the net. He is scoring at a rate at 5 on 5 lower than players such as Deslauriers, Brown and Sedlak.
By the way, guess what player scores at the highest rate at 5 on 5 play for the Flyers? Joel Farabee - MJL
Regarding Cates, recall what Sean Couturier was the first few seasons in the league. He needed multiple seasons before he started to score at an all-star level. Cates has played less than 50 NHL games. Don't you think you are jumping the gun in terms of what he will become in this league. Torts has shown him a great amount of confidence already. The future is extremely bright for Cates!
If we're not the coaches, then that does invalidate your unfounded opinions such as Frost deferring to teammates or having an attitude issue? Or is that only for opinions you disagree with? Why is it that you selectively reference coaches statements and ignore what is said that doesn't fit your narrative? He's done a terrible job with player development. - MJL
But wait, I am sure Dave Hakstal did a much better job with developing players, right? And wait, of course Ron Hextall did an outstanding job drafting players also. Just making a statement like this shows your bias against anything Flyers at this point. I mean, I want Fletcher gone too, but every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut. I think Torts is doing a great job with this team, and if some players like Hayes don't like, they can go poop themselves!

Frost has not played well. He’s going to have a brief nhl career if he can’t pick it up. For how much fancy skate and stick work he possesses, way too many of his passes don’t make it through. He rarely serves it up on a plate for anyone. It’s not a case of line mates blowing chances. - Just5

I would take 25/40 from Farabee in a heartbeat. He is just not demonstrating it so far. |

Guy came back and was immediately injured again. I’d really hope they would ease him back and take a very cautious route. - ClaudeFather
He had surgery in February and didn't start really trying to get ready to play until September.

Yeah, he had neck surgery this summer. Give him the rest of the season to get his game back before writing off his potential. He's still only 22.

Keller is a weird player to compare Frost to. CK has a $7.15m cap hit compared to Frost's $800K.
But speaking of Arizona, how about we compare the seasons of two offensive dmen making around $5m. |

Here is what I recall that you're apparently unaware of. While Couturier was being used a checking line center against top lines. He was scoring at a 2nd line rate at ES. His point totals were lower due to a lack of PP time and scoring. I didn't make a single statement on what Cates will become. Review my post. I stated Tortorella is misusing him. Couturier wasn't a winger made into a center and was able to produce while in his role. Cates is scoring at a pedestrian level at ES at center. While also playing with the better offensive players on the team. How does the two situations compare?

I didn't make any statements regarding Hakstol or Hextall. What are you talking about?
There's a failed logic here on your part. You're posting that I supported Hakstol and Hextall, who worked for the Flyers as reasoning for how I have a bias against the Flyers.
If I have a bias for the Flyers now, what reasons could I possibly have? |

Not to mention that Keller was a top 10 pick while Frost was a late first rounder.
