When it comes to sports fans, the minority is the place to be, seeing how 90% of them are morons. The Sabers would be in the bottom 5 had they listened to half the people on here clamoring for additions. Also, don't look now, but Ottawa is getting healthy, and Cat is potting goals for them just like they expected. Neither Detroit now Ottawa set themselves back by making moves. Either goalie acquired by those teams in the offseason would have the Sabres sitting in a playoff spot right now.

Have UPL (prior to last 4 starts) and Comrie costed us points this year ? Absolutely.

But our goaltending is actually league average when you consider the whole pie.

The biggest issue was losing half our d-corps for 8 games and not managing to at least pick up a couple loser points or a win or two.

Last time a meltdown happened on here with the subject being the Goaltending, it was proven that during EV play CA and UPL were pretty indistinguishable from each other in HDCA SV%...just that the team gave up a ton more in front of UPL (defensive lapses).

Furthermore, in an interview with UPL he raved about CA's communication with players on the ice which the team loves CA for as well. UPL admitted he isn't there yet in his comfort level of communication with the players on ice.

Development takes time and this is a great opportunity for UPL to learn more and implement those learnings...during a Develop and Evaluate year.

I watched a ton of HNIC as a kid.

My sister and I bought a book that had the addresses of all the team offices and we would send players trading cards and ask them to sign them. Most of the time, we'd never hear back.

Felix Potvin sent me back an envelope with a hand-signed letter saying he wasn't allowed to sign cards (but he returned the card), along with a signed 8x10 glossy picture.

It’s the “need” part that’s the problem

Can’t have AllStars everywhere
For example:
if we traded for Aj Brown, then we couldn’t have afforded to sign Von Miller
And also, we couldn’t have picked a CB that we badly needed- knowing Tre wouldn’t be ready to start the season (bc we’d have to have moved our 1st + to get him)

Of course it would be nice to upgrade EVERY position
But it’s just not realistic either

Watching Ducks/Preds….Gibson now reminds me of that kid in Little League or Babe Ruth that got hit by a pitch up high and now pulls his head away when there is a rising shot.

We're not sitting in a playoff spot because of injuries to our defense. You can't expect to compete in the NHL with an AHL level defense, even the great Owen Power was playing like hot garbage early on. There's not a goalie in the NHL that would have played great in front of that debacle.
No one here was against adding a goalie in the offseason, Adam's included, it's too bad his targets refused to play here. No ones against adding a dman to play with Power, or against most legit hockey trades. What the sane don't want is acquisitions for the sake of acquisitions, Tim Murray on the other hand fully supports those.

When did I ever say McCaffrey or AJ Brown. And the Oline needs to be worked on, I have watched plenty of games where Josh is running for his life. But your QB shouldn't have to be 50% of your rushing attack. Fantasy land is for people that don't think the Oline needs upgrading, or a WR or2 could be better. Fantasy Land is not seeing that Josh Allen covers up a lot of Warts for this offense.
