Per the Sabres daily calendar:

On January 1, 2000, Miro Satan had three goals and two helpers in a 7 - 4 win over Ottawa. That's a good omen for today.

Jack Quinn will net the hatty tonight and be the first Sabre rookie since whom, buzzards, to score a hattrick in his rookie season?

Edit: disregard all of this bullpoop. This calendar was obviously made in N Korea by an 8-year old.

So, I have discovered where the N Korean child went wrong in its "fact." Satan did indeed have 3 and 2 against Ottawa on January 8th 2000. So, the cheap gift was off by only a week.

Edit: and, this calandar is licensed and branded with the NHL, Sabres, and NHLPA logos. Distributed and created by Turner media. Looks like they let CNN compile the "facts."

How is Ottawa for a weekend? One year, I would like to go to Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal for road games. One never hears much about Ottawa as a city to spend a couple days in.

Ottawa is underrated. A bunch of us went recently, February 2020, right before the covid lockdowns. We went to the Sens Avs game and headed across the river to Gatineau and saw Lafreniere play in the QMJHL. While the arena isn't close to downtown, several bars have old school buses that take you to the game and back for $15. As much as I hate the cold, I'd recommend going in the winter, skating the Rideau Canal was epic. It's the capital of Canada, so there's a lot more to do that you'd think.

One warning though, if you're obnoxious drunk, you'll have a terrible time.

That sounds awesome. I don't drink anymore. Full time pothead. I've seen the picks of skating the canal. That looks sweet. I think I remember watching a Redbull Crashed Ice from there on TV.
I didn't even realize I could go see a game in the Q right across the river. That would be a bucket lister.

What? For the guy who had 4 pts and having a career year (and signed at a decent price for a few more years and loves loves playing in Buffalo) for a guy that might be over the hill? Terrible. Glad you are not the GM (sorry).

Oh my. I don't need NY or LA. A nice restaurant to have dinner with my wife, a game, and a good hotel or vrbo. A then a day of skating and shopping for my wife.

Edit: how do homeless make it through the winter?
