Thought on Vic and why he's not been traded.
Let's have a nightmare for 30 seconds. Tage gets injured and is out 3 weeks. While there's nothing to be done at the center position other than move Cozens up and adjust down the roster accordingly, at least PP1 unit doesn't fall off a cliff because we have a 2nd guy with a world class shot.

You can still let Vic watch two games from the press box without having him get demolished in the press. I've come to appreciate what "confidence " means to goal scorers as I've listened to countless podcasts with former/current NHL players and coaches. It seems to hold an outsized importance.

People should always remember with Vic he is a successful pick and player for this organization. He obviously worked his ass off to even make the NHL from his draft position, and that tells me he is very coachable with a great attitude. Guys like that shouldn't get crushed by the media or the fans. We should be rooting like hell for him.

Well that's a nice story but at this point he's not helping his team win games. Any normal person would have been fired or demoted from there job for being this bad. He needs to start producing or hit the street. Sabres are at the point where they can't just keep waiting on some of these players, to many younger players knocking on the door.

Yeah, he needs to get going. Would really help this team especially when the first 2 lines are having tough matchups or just off.

He needed to pot that one with 2 minutes left last night. He got it, and even placed it right, but Helberg did what hid did all night: just squeezed it off enough. But, that is the exact moment we pay Vic for. Tage and Skinner were off for the first two periods. The rookies are in a little rut.
We needed another goal from the 3/4th lines. If he scores that, Tage or Skinner take care of overtime.

Lot of things he's just not doing, right after that shot on the FO he falls over by the boards and a easy exit for Ottawa. There was another play, Dahlin was about to shoot and instead of standing in front he slowly glided backwards below the goal line, if he would have planted his A$$ the rebound dropped right there, but instead turned into a easy cover up. Jesus that game against Boston after we tied it. Olofsson lost the puck against the Boards in the Boston zone and they got a nice opportunity with about 6 seconds left, all he had to do was chip it deeper.

Can't argue any of that, I saw it all. That's why he absolutely needed to score yesterday in the 3rd. It would have made up for all of that. Now Vinnie should get a look, and if he scores.... oh well, Vic.

Not gonna give to much thought to last night. Tough playing Back to Back as it is. Even tougher when you haven't skated or practiced for 10 days.

This is something to learn from. Even a win as big as Boston, you have to emotionally turn the page immediately because Ottawa was ready from puck drop. Clearly it took us a little while.

Jeremy Renner in Critical Condition in Nevada. Had to be Emergency Air lifted with a snow related injury. Sounds like he was Snow Plowing and something happened.

Sure, but they didn't play the best team in the league to overtime either, and yes the rest is nice. But being able to skate is important to. Loose your legs a bit when you don't, almost like a pitcher.

per spector

"A dark horse trade candidate is goaltender Karel Vejmelka. Morgan wondered if clubs might have faith in Vejmelka’s body of work to offer up something meaningful. If not, does it make any sense to move him? Morgan suggests doing so could hurt the Coyotes’ morale."

vegas 2nd rd pick and Comrie for Vejmelka?

I’d rather watch the kids struggle then see Vinny Scorenogoalza in the lineup

I'd rather see peterka and quinn too.

I just don't see the Sabres sitting either olofsson or mitts in favor of asplund or vinny hinny. Healthy anyways.

What we want and what the Sabres are going to do, are 2 different things IMO.

Right now I just hope if they keep growing and playing well, keep themselves in the thick of things. I Hope Adams atleast throws them a bone at the TDL and it doesn't even have to be big, just more energy.

Any normal person wouldn't get fired for being on a 30 goal pace. That's above average production.

Scoring once every 3 games is olofsson's pace. 👊

He scored 9 of his goals in the first 10 or 11gms. He has been horrible ever since. He hasn't scored in like 6 or 7gms now.

The Sabres biggest issue right now is NOT olofsson or mitts

It’s the defense. Samuelsson Dahlin and power are logging so major major minutes.

Rotating Clauge Lybuskin and Bryson.

They need more help than the #1 offense in the league
