As a way to move topics, does anyone have an Ovechkin story? Years ago I was a Customs and Border Protection officer here in Buffalo, and I was lucky enough to work a year at Prior Aviation where all of the NHL teams fly into and out of. OV happens to be the only non-Sabre jersey I've purchased and the only player I've ever asked for an autograph. He was gracious and signed the jersey 2009 or 10.

Years later my nephew is quite the young hockey player but grew up in the worst era of Sabre history; consequently, he's an OV and Capitals fan. Two years ago his Christmas gift was the OV jersey. He went bonkers.

Only way they could still play it at this point would be to push the playoffs back a week
That seems unlikely

Yeah, the only time they did that was 9/11. This might be the most "grave" thing to happen to the NFL since then, so who knows. Technically, though, the results of this week could make it not matter. If Kansas City wins, Buffalo loses to New England, which is a real possibility now (who knows where their heads are at, rightfully so), and Cincinnati loses to Baltimore, which depends on whether or not Lamar Jackson can play, that game doesn't matter anymore as far as the standings go.

If Cincy loses they can still win the division if they beat the Bills. If they lose to the Ravens and lose to Buffalo then the Ravens win the division

My guess would be that us & Cinci only play 16games this season,
and they just figure out the seeding by winning percentage

The 2/3 seed is important for that 2nd home playoff game too

There really is no easy way to make this decision, will all that is at stake, with this being that important of a game in the standings and seeding.

Hopefully we hear in the next day or two that Hamlin is going to be okay and live a normal life football or not, then the league can decide on what they're going to do.

It is such a scary situation, I am still kind of numb today and I don't have a personal connection to the player, I couldn't imagine how his family, friends, and teammates feel right now.

Unfortunately, in the interest of fairness, I think by rule, the Buffalo Bills should forfeit the game.

It’s a non-homer take from a homer. Huge Bills and Sabres fan here.

Unless Cincinnati wants to be a chum and agree to a tie, although, they were in the lead when play was stopped.

Forfeit and move on.

agreed on the numbness

can't justify giving the chiefs the 1 seed when the bengals and bills beat them though

9 minutes does not equate to a win

how many mlb games did a team get declared a winner when the game is called due to rain after 1 and a half innings

I wonder if they would give both teams a first round bye and do a coin flip for the home field advantage, if it came to it. I just can't imagine them pushing backs weeks of playoffs and the super bowl.

I hate to even be thinking about this.... I just don't want to feel like I felt last night anymore.

I already went there

It’s unprecedented

But they were in the lead when play was stopped and we had a roster emergency

Let your heads clear and you will understand this is the right thing to do

We should forfeit

Eventually, that discussion will be had out of necessity, no matter how crappy it feels. There's nothing we can do about Hamlin on our end except hope and pray. As long as people keep things in perspective, they don't have to feel bad about wondering what happens next.

delay each playoff round by 1 week
push pro bowl til after super bowl
1 week instead of 2 weeks between title games and super bowl

I think the super bowl is actually a much bigger deal than we think it is. They did move it back one year - was it for 9/11? I don't think they would condense it down to one week.
