Moneypuck odds have us at 50% for playoffs.
Adams needs to go get this team another horse. - sbroads24
50% seems high, just like this from Evolving Hockey feels low.
Not to be a downer, but in reference to the MoneyPuck playoff odds that are going around - EH sees things way differently for the #Sabres.
I’d say this is a bit pessimistic, but the truth is likely somewhere in between this, and the crazy 50.8% MP number that’s floating around.
People are taking this like I don’t think they can make it. I absolutely do, and have said as much.
I’m just presenting the wild variation between models right now and stating I feel the real odds are somewhere in the middle. 🤷🏻♂️

Isnt Girgensons kinda our 3 lw with some grit currently?
5 game win streak
Lines 3 and 4 are interchangeable IMO - Boss34
Mitts line is an albatross. Checking line is adequate. Nothing interchangeable about them. Polar opposites.

And that is fine, but that still leaves Kulich Savoie Rousek Murray(doubt it) that could be ready. - Buff36
They slow play all their prospects.
Are either of Savoie or Kulich having a season like either of Peterka or Quinn did last season?
Does it seem like Murray is in their short or long term plans?
Only player I could see is Rousek. |

a. no i did not
b. 1 game does not a season make
c. kyle is old and slow and the team wants to play fast

Rosen feels like he still needs a lot of playing time and development in terms of continuing to fill out his frame.
I doubt they have any NHL plans for him next season aside from injury call ups. - kingcong39
I'd just say that these guys are close enough that you really don't want bottom 6 fixtures who are grandfathered their lineup spots.
KA talks a lot about not blocking guys, then does a pretty good job of blocking them, so nothing would surprise me.

Kulich is pretty close to JJ right now. JJ exploded after the new year last year. Savoie is a weird situation |

Kulich is also doing it at 18. Plenty of reason to think he's miles ahead of them in development.

Sabres are going to play meaningful games down the stretch then win one of the lottos and walk out of this years draft with one of Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, or Michkov.
Then we can plan the parade route for later this decade. |

You and I both think the big year is the 24-25 season.
It's why they're positioned to do little again next offseason aside from signing a couple of forwards to one year deals, so they're not blocking the forward prospects in the 24-25 season. |

I’ve said it from the very beginning of the offseason, and doubled down during the 8 game losing streak, that I felt the Sabres were not going to be a bottom 10 team this year and so far so good.
Playing meaningful games down the stretch and be in the race till the very end.
Maybe they do make the playoffs when all said and done, but I’m not going to lose sleep if they don’t.
Next years success will hinge on internal development and whatever moves made in the offseason. |

? for Lunaion or 39. If Johnson's rights are traded. If he doesn't sign with that team do they get that Comp. Pick in the 2nd or is that wiped when the trade is made. Thanks |

I'd be pumped if they were able to draft Andrew Cristall with their 1st round pick. |

I know we generally agree here, but 36 is right that these kids are coming quicker than expected. Combine that with the deplorable play of VO + Mitts and you do need some change next year.

You can’t waste a potential Hart finalist season from Thompson and an almost sure fire Norris finalist season from Dahlin. Not to mention career years from 89,53 and a breakout from Cozens.
Adams owes it to legitimately everyone from the players to the fans to do everything possible to make the playoffs.

Whether they miss by a few or make it, doing almost nothing will be a terrible look and one that will turn a lot of fans against this management group |

" The National Hockey League announced today that it has fined the Toronto Maple Leafs’ organization $100,000 for the team’s travel to St. Louis on Dec. 26, 2022. This team activity was in violation of Article 16.5(b) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL and the NHL Players’ Association"
That's just funny. |
