It depends after 9-10 minutes survival rate is extremely slim. To be honest I am a bit shocked he made it and very happy for him and his family. - sabresfan69
We don't know if it was that long. Still, there are lots of documented cases where people came through after being out a lot longer than that. No miracle claims needed. |

You don't gotta be so salty... your anger is showing - DirtyDan
I’m angry that people can’t let just other people be because they are happy about news. They have to poop on everyone else. |

Unless they said there was a light and told to go back? Not sure if anyone has ever said that. I think some do and some say they saw nothing. |

You can’t see the difference between a sporting event for a billion dollar company vs. a park or a mall, that’s on you. - Nightmare Fuel
Again, you're all over the map. Are the medical people hanging out because a billion dollar company is putting on the event? Or do they show up when all of the people show up? We both know the answer to this.

Nighmare is right if someone in the crowd had a cardiac arrest the medical people would just roll him into a ditch. |

I'm sure you're even more vested, being at the game.
No place for hate, especially on a hockey board.

Do you think if a "normal person" was walking outside the stadium or in the stadium paring lot and the medical people inside the stadium were notified they would deny him care? |

It may be true that Damar Hamlin got quicker/better/more favorable treatment than the average person at least somewhere along the timeline. He's a public figure, and the event occurred in a public forum in front of millions of witnesses. It should be expected. To me, the disconnect is that there's anything wrong with that, or that anyone making that claim wouldn't want that used to his own advantage if he was in that situation. |

At this point he is just being indignant to be indignant. I know people like that in real life - they just keep moving the goalposts. Exhausting.

he got that treatment because he was at an event that has a higher potential for the need of medical personnel.. someone in the stands that had the same issue would have had the same speed of healthcare because thats where the medical staff was. |

It would be hard to believe more favorable treatment because it implies if the EMT shows up for us normies they would do something different but I do agree the level of danger a football player faces I am sure its already in the NFL agreement. He is playing a sport and the owners of the league have a responsibility to look after the players.
Nightmare is a clown not to recognize this. |

What also is being overlooked is I am sure the NFL and NFLPA negotiate care and pay for that service in the bargaining agreement. |

Ya, you right. I always see ambulances going at different speeds depending on who the person is. The more you pay the faster the ambulance goes.
You know when normies get into car accidents sometimes helicopters come to take them away.
When normies get lost at sea they send out search teams with urgency.
No one waits to see who is paying the bill.
I am done with you. You are sad. |

I can't figure out which piece of this is more shocking to me.
1. That you have this completely uninformed and unsubstantiated opinion that people that have dedicated to their lives to health and safety of others will arbitrarily appear as inhumane as you appear to be.
2. That you would then take said opinion out into the public and argue it as fact |
|
|
|
Just asked a co-worker:
If I had cardiac arrest right now do you think I could get the same treatment as Hamlin?
They all said, in unison
“Hell no you serious”
Anyway, hope is isn’t brain damaged because then miracles are really messed up |
