Just asked a co-worker:
If I had cardiac arrest right now do you think I could get the same treatment as Hamlin?
They all said, in unison
“Hell no you serious”
Anyway, hope is isn’t brain damaged because then miracles are really messed up - Nightmare Fuel
And if Hamlin was sitting next to you he'd say the same thing. Again, what is your point?

he got that treatment because he was at an event that has a higher potential for the need of medical personnel.. someone in the stands that had the same issue would have had the same speed of healthcare because thats where the medical staff was. - SabresFaninIndiana
In my mind, I'm not talking about at the stadium itself. They have medical personnel on standby ready to administer to the players themselves. It's at the hospital where I am thinking it's possible.
This is just hypothetical, but let's just say for the sake of argument there was another patient that had a cardiac event that was just as severe at the same hospital at the same time, but he wasn't in the public eye. It's not unfathomable that at some point in time, the hospital would give the "better" resources to Hamlin first, not necessarily for very long, or to the point that the other patient dies. But it's just human nature to tend to the patient that everyone has their eye on first. It's not out of negligence or maliciousness. It's just how it goes, fair or not.

It would be silly to think the average Joe/Jill isn't getting life saving care every day.
Or they are just left on the street to die? People call 911 and they get care.
350,000 people have cardiac arrests each year. around 50% get life saving care.
Anyone who thinks they are left on the street to die is just trying to create hate.
20% who get care survive, those are the average Joes/Jills.
Why are people trying to spin this into something its not? - sabresfan69
It's not about the care they receive, it's about the support. Like there's a question why the entire United States doesn't know about Average Joe experiencing this trauma.

What do you think?
Sabres slow roll kulich next year in Rochester or is he making the team out of camp?
Under normal seasons, seams like he would get a look see after the deadline, when we move a bunch of guys. |

I stand corrected, and this is stupid.

Hamlin is average Joe. There is no difference. A guy that was unknown to all but a group of people had a terrible incident happen in front of tens of millions of people. The support would be the same.

It’s because people worked really hard. It’s not a miracle.
The biggest news here is if he pulls through, so many people worked to save his life.
No one’s outraged. - Nightmare Fuel
Bringing someone back to life is subjectively a miracle.

No, Hamlin would agree that if the incident happened to him while sitting next to your miserable self in your miserable office, he would be a gonner. He would also agree that if you had the same issue happen to you while at a monday night football game then you would survive.

Really don't know what they will do Boss. I think he's close, he has already played 2yrs of men's hockey overseas. |

Ever wonder why these "miracles" don't happen a day or two after the person dies?
(spoiler alert: if they "come back", they weren't dead)

I agree with the support thing, but the medical care Damar received in Cincinnati is the same care that Joe Blow would receive at the same hospital.

Joker is skating again. Hopefully we aren't too far away from having one more awful defenseman watching the game from the press box. - Slump Buster
I wonder if they punt Fitz next. They like his edge but he sits all the time.

Not if they use science or medicine.
Miracle literally means beyond normal science and comprehension- like divine.
It’s not a miracle. It’s not religious.

Some guys like quinn and peterka kick the door open in training camp. We may not have an answer until then.
I do believe that kulich's talent has made olofsson very tradeable and lessons any future plans in buffalo. |

I think the real question is 46's spot on the team. I still think that he is the worst of all of them.
