I don't know what kind of care ECMC offers as opposed to UCMC in Cincy. My base knowledge says, in your created scenario, he gets better care there than at the county hospital.
That has no bearing on what your argument is, though. There are specialized heart trauma locations in Buffalo that an ambulance can take you to. My wife works in one. - TheSabresTaco
His argument is he has to be right, whatever point he is trying to make.
He just has to be correct and everyone else wrong. |

It took huge seasons from Peterka and Quinn to be penciled into this lineup for this season.
Unless Kulich replicates, I'd lean on Rochester to start. - TheSabresTaco
Sliding contracts seems like the key piece here. Seems clear they made that decision on Peterka and Quinn from day 1. Kulich will have a strong season under his belt and that decision is much tougher. He might start in Roch, but I doubt they'll be locked in to sliding him. He may also have a legit chance to make the team in camp, hope he does and spots aren't just gifted to old guys with letters.

That's kinda what I was thinking, you know, until this break out at the juniors.
Gotta imagine kulich is gonna be fired up and play even better the remainder of the season - Boss34
I hope so.
It's promising but it's also a grain of salt. Quinn stunk at his WJC. Some folks here were poopting all over him for it.
Armia was good. So was Risto. Nylander.. Mitts..
Just saying a good juniors is not always indicative of their professional careers.
I sure hope to see an amped up Kulich for the remainder of the season. Same with all of our prospects. I love Kulich, I was thrilled with the pick. But the way this org operates, they will probably wait until he's dominating in Rochester like he did against his peers.

Even if a guy "earns it" in training camp, that doesn't mean he should be on the team. Peterka was the best guy in camp last year and they rightly sent him down. It was the right call then and it would be the right call for Kulich.

I had a thought which shook me a bit. What if this game were in Orchard Park? Would they take him to ECMC or whichever by Mercy Flight (or whatever it's called now)? The hospital in Cincinnati was only 2 miles away. Orchard Park is a bit further out. - buffalofan19
That demands on the protocol and the procedure/emergency required. He was stablized I believe by the time he was in the ambulance, so you'd like to think that would be the same here. At that point, Joe Blow or his guardian can direct the EMS to take you to wherever you want. I am certain, if here, someone would direct them, if they didn't already know, to a heart specialization area. Probably UB or Kenmore.

Strongly disagree with that part.
Agree with you on the sentiment, if he isn't ready, that's fine.

Alrite Fitz, thank you for the precise definition of a miracle.
I guess scientific miracles are oxymorons.
The kid was legally dead. Bringing someone back to life when there's no guarantee in doing so with medical practices is a scientific miracle I don't know why I'm still in this discussion. - TheSabresTaco
Was he legally dead? Do you know this? Pronounced LEGALLY dead?
Good grief.
Hope he is okay because a lot of people seem to know more than his family, maybe you can all tell him he was legally dead and a miracle saved him, not medical professionals |

That would be great to see him earn a spot here. But in recent years I've moved away from expecting/demanding prospects play NHL minutes. If he's not ready, he's not ready. Neither Quinn nor Peterka were ready last season and that's ok.
I'd like to think they don't give a poop about the slide. It may be a small factor, but they portray themselves to care about their development, solely. |

With all due respect, you were kind of all over the place. But it doesn't change how baffled I am that you even feel the need to have that take. This is one of the most amazing days in Buffalo history and you come here with... that.
Lets put a bow on all of this. I am going to go out on a limb and guess that if it was the linesman or ball boy that had this issue happen then you wouldn't be here with this garbage. I'll take it a step further - I am going to guess that you aren't going onto other message boards to argue other inequalities such as the pay for the real angels in our lives (teachers, social workers, fire fighters, etc). There is something about this alleged "advantage" (and our celebration of his survival) that triggered you. I wonder what that could be.....
Maybe it was seeing all of those men kneeling again on the field reminded you of other things that you found unsettling. - Slump Buster

That's the thing - almost nobody is "ready" at that age. You might get generational guys like Eichel, Dahlin or Powers that won't benefit from time in the minors. Unless he becomes generational overnight he needs time in the minors.
