Anything Tortorella said in an interview today concerning Ristolainen is completely irrelevant. I'm not sure what it takes to get through to realize what Tortotorella does. He tries to manipulate with the press and with interviews. It's used car salesman BS. The evidence of what Ristolainen is as a player is readily available and public knowledge. Nothing Tortorella says in an interview changes that.

Appreciate your opinion, while I donโ€™t agree with his lineup decisions I donโ€™t hold the complete helter skelter view of what he is doing. My guess, some your played like Frost, York, Tippett and even a TK are going to give Torts some credit. Now, some will be the company line but some will be the truth coming from them

I don't think it's helter skelter at all. I think the way they play is archaic. All the young players needed was quality ice time with solid players. For example, Tortorella thought that York shouldn't start in the NHL. Now he's playing on the top pair, 18 minutes plus and looking good doing it. A player doesn't go from not being ready for the NHL to that in a few months. Translation, he was ready in October. Frost was held back in the beginning. I have no doubt that if Atkinson and Couturier were able to play. There would be less ice time given to the younger players.

Both defensemen on the ice normally play the left side in Sanheim and Seeler. Weird how the line changes work. Before the commercial break when Hart made the save, Sanheim and Provorov out there together.

Starting York in the AHL was the right choice

Did Torts pee in your Cheerios or something? Your disdain for him is actually kind of strange.

It's obvious with his play now that he is an NHL player and belongs in the NHL. That wasn't different in October. His time the season before should've been a factor. Having a slow camp does not mean a player isn't ready for the NHL. It's not going to hurt him, but he should've been with the team all season. That's obvious.

Ristolainen has the tools to be a top defenseman from the neck down. If you took an MRI of his brain. It would show a picture of a brick.

The difference in York now is night and day. It was the right call to send him down to find his game. The kid looks good! Really good!

Why would the NHL Department of Hockey Operations care about his trade value?
