Not to mention that you can only hit when THEY have the puck......just sayin'

In terms of possession, the Flyers actually had the better of play. That's going to happen though when one team has a substantial lead and is playing 3 in 4. I don't think the Flyers got the Leafs A game last night. I think the game came down to some puck management and coverage issues. Leaky goaltending by Hart and the Leafs skill level shining through.

Hey, we're in agreement on something. Konecny blew a coverage leading to a goal. Frost had a couple careless turnovers that led to a goal against. So, what is the standard. DeAngelo is a flawed player but he is what he is. I could see if it was a effort issue but I haven't seen that all year with DeAngelo. I don't know what purpose benching DeAngelo serves.

Insert streamers here!!!

I like Torts but this makes no sense. The Leafs are not the Coyotes! They are on the Flyers much quicker and forcing the Flyers to make faster decisions with the puck. That is when the turnovers happen because the Flyers don't have too many players that do the right things under pressure. Like you said, there is not an effort problem on this team, and to me that is the only reason a player should be benched, because of lack of effort. The Flyers are trying, they are just not that good and their flaws are amplified when they play top teams like Toronto. It will be the same when the Flyers play Boston next week.

I feel when Torts does this its completely out of being a sore looser and looking for someone to take it out on, and that is not good!

The Leafs came out strong for the first several minutes and then I think the play was even. It really came down to Hart letting in some bad goals off turnovers. The other problem the Flyers have had all year is faceoffs, the Flyers are 4th worst in the league at only 45% FOW% and this kills their possession, especially on the PP where they typically start each PP by chasing the puck down the ice! If this game was close in the 3rd, say 3-2, I think the Flyers would have came back and won the game because the Leafs did not have much in the tank in the 3rd period.

What we saw was what happens when Hart doesn’t have his A game. The flyers still most likely would of lost but 4-2 maybe closer to the final than 6-2.
JT said in part of the interview that he doesn’t see the game against Toronto as a measuring stick.
Of course he doesn’t publicly because it’s not even close in terms of talent and team play.
If the front offices don’t use this game as a barometer in the grand scheme then they are just as delusional as I thought they are.

Think he was the only player uneasy about Tortorella. This is a bunch of psycho BS that comes along with having a coach like Tortorella. It's obvious to me that it was a bad call and that York was capable of playing in the NHL in October. A subpar camp doesn't change that. They had a sample of 30 NHL regular season games to draw from. Luckily, it's not going to hurt the player but it was the wrong decision made under the influence of the coach.

Keep on beatin that dead horse agenda of yours. Sounds like you are more offended than the actual player that was sent down. And of course you know more about player development than a coach that has won over 1,000 games in the NHL.

I didn't know the Flyers play in Buffalo tonight until I went on FB. Shows how engaged I am in this season. Ersson better bring his A+++++ game cause the young Sabres are going to pounce and trounce.

The only agenda I have is the same as yours. To talk hockey and give my opinion.

Is the standard we want to set here an appeal to authority? We can't criticize or disagree with a decision a coach makes because he has coached 1,000 games? How about Fletcher. Can we criticize him as a GM? He has been an NHL GM for what, 13 seasons or so as well as other positions on NHL teams. How many seasons have you been an NHL GM so we can determine if you are qualified to offer criticism towards Fletcher.

Ok by me. They need to lose a lot more to get us into a better bedard standing.

Agreed that everyone is entitled to their opinion and able to criticize as we see fit, but I just don't understand how you can unequivocally say that sending down York was a mistake on Torts' part based on how York as performed since being recalled.

See, now you're talking hockey.

The 30 games he played last year and how he has played since he's been called up makes it highly unlikely that he wasn't the same player back in October when he was sent down. Some players just need a little adjustment to a new situation. Especially young players. He should've been kept on the Flyers and see how he started the season. I don't think there was any damage done to the player by sending him down for the relatively small period. I just don't buy this magical coaching decision by Tortorella as a reason for why he is playing well now.

It doesn’t really matter if they did or didn’t it just reinforces my point.

I'd love Bedard, but I would be very happy with Leo Carlsson also. The Flyers need a top end C to go along with TK and Cutter Gauthier on the wings. Then you get what we all hope is a healthy Couturier next season at 2C and then everyone else slots down, and this team is immensely improved. The only thing missing would be a true 1A defenseman, which maybe the Flyers can get in the 2024 draft.

The point was offered in agreement and in support of your opinion. It does matter because it's part of showing the gap between teams.

Did I read somewhere that tonight’s game is moved from the March 4th scheduled game? Why?

Buffalo had a massive blizzard and had to shift a couple games around.

Bedard is a pipe dream. Everyone knows they will be in no mans land missing the playoffs while picking in the 7-12 range.
