I mean pretty much everyone who covers the Flyers has written a scathing article on it. As well as plenty of other hockey writers/bloggers/etc... on Twitter. As far as the hockey media community goes, pretty much everyone has ripped him for it.
I don't think it was smart of him and I also don't believe that he really made that decision based on his religious beliefs. But I definitely think that the outrage over it is a little much. - eichiefs9
Yea I agree with that. This is social media and it’s cesspool nature in a nut shell.
Just think this guy can never again go into a store now

Here's the thing certain people don't get. The people who think everyone is soft and woke and all those other buzz words that they are being told to resent are actually the ones who are triggered the most. They do not understand that freedom of speech/expression is not freedom from reaction or consequences or being yelled at on twitter. Someone like Provorov gets yelled at online and all those people clutch their pearls and get uppity about the same thing that they are themselves doing, but over a much dumber thing. It's just a circle jerk of outrage.
The precipitating act (provorov and his blind loyalty to a magical wizard in the sky's supposed hatred of certain people) is almost irrelevant at this point
But Ovechkin scores goals, I don't understand your point. - JRR1285
Pretty much. "But we cover hockey and he's a good hockey player!"
I'm in no way a Trump guy, but it's pretty funny to me that any athlete that voiced support for him was immediately vilified, but the guy that pals around with and supports Putin is OK.

We are very much on the same page there. You are spot on about the rest though.

No doubt, no disagreement on that one. I've found that the crowd of people who frequently use the term "snowflake" are usually walking, breathing definitions of that word

Yeah, I don't know man. I also have some friends that have surprisingly changed their tune on Russia since they view being against the Russian war machine as being pro democrat or some poop. Lots of mental gymnastics there.
