Again though, its sacrificing center depth for a winger. That to me is a huge no no. I don't disagree that it could make that Panarin line fantastic, but it makes the 3rd line crap. Overall it makes the team depth worse if Chytil is traded. Chytil, I would argue, is the 2nd best center on the team. Trochek is good but I think Chytil is better.

Filip Chytil has been top 5 forward for the Rangers. Top 5 for their team. Better than Trochek.

Daily Faceoff has NYR very interested in Timo Meier, would that just be a rental kinda thing where they flip him after the season?

The return they’d get from flipping him in the off-season would mitigate that. Or whatever crazy gymnastics they might pull to keep him

a 1st, a 2nd that becomes a 1st if we reach ECF, Laf, Jones

any chance that gets it done?

A lot. That's the only problem. But flip him at the draft if that is going to be the case. It's complicated but in can be done.

Chytil would be on pace for 53 pts over an 82 game season, playing on the 3rd line with very little PP time. That’s the guy we want to give up for a rental? I don’t understand peoples thought process sometimes

And that's how you know it's bad idea. You want to keep Chytil, I want to keep Chytil should be a no brainer.

Good game...missed most of it to watch the Cowboys beat Tampa and make Brady retire.

From previous blog:

Hajek or Jones and the worse pick of our 2 first rounders will be well worth it. Gavrikov is a warrior. On the Columbus team he is first pairing, but with us he will be on the 3rd pairing with Schneider. If anything happened to Lindgren or another of our top 4 D, he could easily slide up. Big upgrade over Harpur and good depth for a long playoff run.
This is our guy--- this should be our trade target...

Call Philly and get me Braun again and JVR. Trades done...

I just don’t get the thought process on trading him. Zib is turning 30 this year, he has a few more “prime” years but then he might not be that 1C anymore. Hopefully we have the answer to that in Chytil. Bc there’s certainly not anything else in the system center wise to get excited about.

I dont think they are trading Lafreniere in a deadline deal

I think if they do pull the plug on Lafreniere its gonna be for another young high pick maybe having trouble, or picks, during the draft

Not to mention Trochek having 3 points in his last 10 games. Fil on a nice little 7 in 7 run.

Agreed. There is no logic in trading Laf. A team inquiring is attempting to buy low on him, which is smart.

I like the Timo idea, but that is not going to be a friendly trade. Also, him being and RFA with only being 1 year away from UFA, this will cost the Rangers another 8-9 mill AVV to sign.
How would that work without shedding players?

I dont understand the thought process of people thinking they’d make a deal without agreeing on an extension with Kane. If they can’t they don’t make the trade

Kane isn’t a rental for the NYR
