Lameriello hasn’t embraced the idea that the game has changed. It’s a fast league with successful teams finding a balance through their lineups with a focus on exactly that. Lameriello built a team that may be(or maybe not) better suited for the playoffs grinding style but it means nothing if you can’t make them. Two consecutive miscalculations that 86’d both seasons and will continue to hurt us for the future. Exactly what he did to the Devils and the Leafs on the way out. Lameriello owns this completely. - Cptmjl
There is no question Lou has not changed with the times and has remained stubborn. What worked years ago will not work today. |

This team needs to go scorched earth with everything imo. Lane included in that. I doubt it happens but it should. I have no idea what it is but there’s something definitely rotten with this team. - Cptmjl
It has to be done at this point. Worse thing Ledecky and Malkin can do is bring it all back. |

It's all part of the Isles' strategy to make their opponents overconfident. - JohnScammo
“It's just disheartening when you put in an effort, and can't break through,” Lambert said after Tuesday’s loss.
Come on Lane you can’t say that. If you want to point at that shot count and use that as a reference to justify “effort” I’ll say 90% of them were of the non threatening variety. You know that and guess what? So does the team and the fanbase. Call out these bunch of mooks publicly at this point. Grow a set you have nothing to lose. |

I don't think he was talking about Bailey who, as keaner said, achieved his Bailey hat trick. I noticed that Bailey did not get as much ice time as usual, so I'm hoping that Lane is seeing what the rest of us see......and have seen for years. |

This team knows, like the rest of us, that Sorokin is weak in shootouts. Believe me they are also well aware our shooters suck as compared to the rest of the league. How Dobson and Barzal can come out and just sit there with the puck passing back and forth to each other burning a minute off the clock after being gifted a PP in OT for the second consecutive game is mind boggling. Zero push to end the game. It looked like they were trying to maintain a one goal lead. The opportunities this team has gotten the last few losses only to fall on their faces is so bad it’s laughable. |

Who was it on here that always complained about the Isles always having to play more games at the end of the season than the other teams? The Isles are tied with the Panthers for the most games played so far at 57. |

Patrick Kane on Kirby Dach's recent surge: "I’m not surprised. What is he, 21? 22? It takes some time sometimes, and he was probably rushed into the league. And playing fourth-line minutes, getting sat out games, it’s probably not the best thing for your development."
I say we trade for Kane so he can retire and be our gm |

Still cannot believe Kane lusted after the Rangers while still on Chicago. What a punk move.

I should not be surprised, but to let everyone know he was upset the Rangers traded for Tarasenko? |

Along with him being injured every week and not being very good. We would have to trade Palmieri with a pick for NOTHING to get rid of him. Even then there isn’t a team that would take him. Even a bottom feeder wouldn’t because of the term left on his contract. It’s kind of a pointless conversation. Not happening he’s ours for the life of his contract. One of many contracts we have that suck. Unfortunately this one’s hurting us faster then we hoped. - Cptmjl
Lee and Palmieri are at the top of a rather long list of players that are untradeable due to contract and/or performance. |

Chicago is in a clear rebuild and they need to move him for picks and prospects. The rangers are deep and a contender so makes sense he'd want to go there plus panarin. |

It does make sense for him to want to go. but to just be so open like that seems very wrong. Could just be me though.

He could have just told Chicago not to trade him so wherever he signs, that team won’t have depleted picks or prospects. |

That would never happen potvin.
I would rather have Tarasenko over Kane. |

Yeah, but having him for 3 more years is the problem other teams would have with him. - potvin05
It’s this season, whereby said team would presumably be going for the cup, next season which would be a similar scenario and a third season if need be, buy him out |

The focus next season is to overhaul the bench with proven winners. This team has needed a PP specialist for years. I’ve seen that PP be stagnant for years. I did however watch Horvat, whenever he was on the PP constantly moving, looking to give the passer a lane. Nobody else does that.

He’s from Buffalo, and they love MSG around the league. Very unprofessional for him to be publicly saying that |

There’s some truth to this. There has to be a balance between salaries and the cap. We have a threshold for teams as far as spending but none for the actual salaries. The NHLPA of course would strike the instant it was proposed but if you’re trying to achieve parity around the league why wouldn’t there be some when it comes to salaries? They seemingly go up while the cap barely moves.
It continually forces teams to suck for long periods of time to have the opportunity to draft cost controlled players. Then these teams have to hope they get lucky with a few picks to build around and then fortunate enough to have trades and FA’s available to add to their lineup when the time is right. Not exactly a recipe for success imo. - Cptmjl
GMs, Players union, and Agents have caused an unrealistic salary structure. I would rather see front loaded Contracts on any Contract over 5 years. It would make moving these contracts in the last few years easier and not cripple teams.
What about when players are bought out instead of you cap being hurt you have to pay release tax. Kinda like Baseballs luxury tax. This way is a team is not crippled and players are not buried in the minors. |

Lee should have been given no more than 5 years. Palms would have been better at 3. |

From a team perspective yes. From a Player/ Agent viewpoint no. It places these guys in UFA on complete downside of career.
I do agree with your term. Just do not see Players accepting that unless money structure in contract changes.
