Rosner-Asked Lambert about Bolduc and why he finds himself as an extra today:
"I think he needed to move his feet a little bit more. He's so good on breakouts and has that poise, but the two go hand in hand. If you're not moving your feet, it's harder to break the puck out." #Isles
Look, Bolduc had a couple of bad turnovers in that game but you could argue Pelech, Mayfield, Dobson and Romanov were all much worse. I get that we wouldn't dare sit Pelech (nor should we), but what is it with this club continually punishing rookies while allowing even mid to bottom pairing guys like Romanov and Mayfield a free pass? |

I can care less that they benched Bolduc but I don’t think that’s really much of an argument. They were terrible. Romanov and Dobson were (frank)ing terrible. Probably the worst of the bunch imo. There was a time that we had a good defense. Cast hasn’t changed all that much save for Romanov with a filler of aho or Bolduc really. So what gives? Is it the defenses fault they seem to be completely unprepared most games? Is it the system Lambert put in place? Is it what seems to be a new found complete lack of accountability? All of the above?
I think so. Lambert seems to get a pass on here universally but I’m starting to question his capabilities as a coach at this point. This team has given up god knows how many points this season from just not showing up. Not saying fire the guy but to say he doesn’t own a lot of this is borderline hysterical. |

The problem goes way beyond Lane. Accountability is only for the young players. This team has struggled in developing young talent. I'm not sure if the Islanders do not know how to talk to young players and reach them? Even under Barry this team struggled many games. Outside of the two playoff runs, this was a struggling team. Bo seems like a very nice pickup, but there still seems to be a roster problem with this team and overall accountbility issues. |

Holmstrom, Fashing (not sure he’s young but I’d consider him a rookie), Raty(before traded), Aho, Salo, Bolduc, have all been given opportunities. Dobson snd Romanov both 22yrs old I think. They’re all young and developing. I get what you’re saying but it’s also good to let them sit and watch after playing a couple games for many reasons. Not sure what the problem is overall, have to think it’s a combo of players not performing and coaches not holding guys accountable. But the young guys have been given ample opportunities. Also, the gsme they played vs kraken was one of the most complete games I’ve seen them play in a couple years so I know they have it in them. |

Sorokin sh!t the bed against the Canucks. It happens. I am sure you are not perfect at your job everyday either. But if was not for this defense this team would not even be close to even a wild card birth.

I'm not sure Salo was given an ample opportunities. Bolduc was just called up. It just seems the Islanders instinct is to sit a young player at the first sign of any trouble. I think it causes issues when young players see a vets like Bailey not being held to account.

Sorokin is not an issue at all. I think it more the play of Sorokin and not even the play of the defense that gives the Islanders any sort of chance.

I agree with you on Sorokin. The way he has played. To me he had an off night and I sure there are at least three goals he wants back.

Lou injected some life in the team with Horvat. Barzal appears to be rejuvenated. Palmieri is starting to heat up. But there are still a lot of holes in this team. There still to many of the same style of player.
On defense Romanov has been erratic...Supporting several of questioning the 1st pick. The more I watch the move I understand. The bottom 3 are some what inconsistent. And the same can be said for top 3.
I still believe Horvat was the right move. You have a guy that is developing chemistry with what Barzy. No Lou has to rid the team of more inconsistency and bring in a little more youth.
Playoffs maybe a stretch this year. Even if they get in, I do not see them getting past the 1st round. This off season will be critical to this teams future. I think even more so than when JT left. |

just looked. He played 11 games earlier- which is more than I realized. He had 4 points in those 11 games and was a +1 overall. I remember him having a couple bad games toward the end of of that stint, but I agree not sure why he hasn’t been given another opportunity more recently. |

One really bad goal by Sorokin in that game. Every other goal saw Canucjs players uncontested at the top of the crease. The defense has been terrible all year long |

I would imagine he would want all six back. That said, the five hole shot (5th goal) was awful. The first goal was a floater where he was screened a bit. I would say those two you would have preferred to see him stop but the defensive play was terrible on at least five of those goals |

11 games are not much. Maybe Dufour was not ready but look how he was sat for most of the game. Just seems the Islanders are in a panic with young players, and they have a bad game. |

Also let’s not forget BP has to be blamed as well for not developing these players properly. |
