Nail…meet head.
Or…”Somebody, anybody, trade for this guy, he’s so valuable. At everything!” - potvin05
As long as Bailey is a nice guy and he is not young that's all that matters. |

No, I think you're right. I was just picking nits, because I'm so f'n bored! I don't know whether to root for this team to win or to tank! - JohnScammo
Tank...if we can get a late first for Varly and perhaps a second for Mayfield while dropping to say 9th or 10th in the Bedard race, we can star fresh next year armed with a better prospect pool.. We have no third, but two firsts and two seconds could go a long ways. We could potentially trade up some then too. |

Tank would be for the best. Very difficult to see this team being able to make enough moves in the offseason to become a Cup contender for next year.

Wasnt that Snows model for drafting? "He's got great character". Bailey is one of the final ties to the Snow years. |

Would it have been fine for Lane to say we need more from Bailey or is that considered throwing him under the buss today?

I can't prove this obviously, but after seeing how Edmonton got all those first overalls it appears that the NHL will handpick who gets Bedard. My guess off the top of my head is Chicago, as that would probably make the league the most money.

I dont think anyone needed to say anything. The benching speaks volumes. Unfortunately the coaches have to deal the hand thats dealt to him. |

Bedard is considered such a can’t miss prospect, I can’t see any team trading the first overall pick. For anything short of picks and a top 6 player or two. And, I don’t even see that. |

Yeah, I was in no way insinuating that as a possibility . But the top 10 picks in this draft are really solid |

ironically I almost suggested just that (ref and all). We give up Holmstrom, DuFour, Bolduc, both 1st rounders (Varly & our top 10) and both 2nds.
They'd still turn us down |

Yeah, that might have looked better had we still had Raty to throw on there...but still not likely good enough. |

I think you’d be throwing Dobson or Barzal (or worse, Sorokin) in, plus all those picks you mentioned to get a team even remotely interested. I don’t think those prospects you mentioned move the needle much. |

Nope, probably not. I almost mentioned Dobson. I'm not parting with Sorokin though.
We could go all in and offer them Bailey |

What was the matter with the Islanders' power play during the 1992-93 season? Turgeon and King combined for something like 45 power play goals that season under the coaching of Al Arbour. - JohnScammo
King 21 PPG
Turgeon 24 PPG

Not one of Bill's finest moves bringing Don on as assistant GM. |

Especially a Ranger from those early 80s days. They don’t forget that poop. |
