this is very true, and considering how awfully depleted that roster is it's impressive that they were still in it after 40 minutes... the matchup was basically a heavily injured team in a rebuild vs a team looking to potentially win a Stanley cup. - Pat1993
I don't see them within sniffing distance of the Cup. |

they aren't favorites, but under the right circumstances, if they get decent pieces at the TDL they could cause some damage in the playoffs.

At the beginning of the season I said I wouldn't mind seeing them lose, as long as they played entertaining hockey. With Ducharme, they were losing games badly and they were a snoozefest.
I mean, look at the lineup they had yesterday. St-Louis did a good thing when he called that timeout, but they were clearly out matched from the start. Not much they could do. - stinger67
Martin was pissed.
He's in a tough spot right now but pretty sure the general message there was "just because we're losing doesn't mean we just give up. Have some pride."

as an ex-player/coach he does remind me a bit of Brindamour, they both have a way to motivate their group and maximize everyone's potential.

They just care about each individual player in a way that the other guys don't. Maybe the x's and o's stuff they aren't great at, but the hard part is getting everybody pointed the same direction and busting their ass and that's the part that seems to come naturally to them. |

not sure how things are in CAR but that's why I'd like the habs to add a more experienced fella to the coaching staff to help out with the more technical stuff, having players buy into the plan is a huge part of having success but deploying specific strategies is also part of the game. |

Yeah, couldn't read lips but I think that was pretty much the message. They were just outmatched badly. |

that's very possible, as I think both of them didn't have any NHL coaching experience before getting hired by the habs... I guess I could see them keeping Burrows if MSL really likes what he brings to the table and wants to have him around. |

It's been frustrating but Carolina has done way more strategizing this year than in the past under Brind'amour.
Rod leans heavily on the rest of the staff to work on the tactical stuff. Tim Gleason and Sergei Samsonov have been doing most of that. |
