-Rangers get Kane at 25%
-Canucks gets ‘25 4th rder for 25% of Kane
-Hawks get Kravtsov, Leschysyn (because the rangers have to dump those 2 salaries) and ‘24 first rder (w/ some protection, like top 3) and MAYBE one more piece like a ‘23 second rder
It may not even cost the first since he doesn’t want any other team it sounds like

sad to see Kaner go, tbh he deserves better, The hawks would be wasting the rest of his career. he left a legacy here so he’s done enough, hope to see him win another cup |

Maybe the Canucks can help the Flyers rid themselves, of JVR's contract. |

The Canucks have Cap space to eat salary as a 3rd party in a trade? I did not think so and thus went to Capfriendly to confirm. They have $7M in LTIR space but when a player like Hughes comes back they have none. I am puzzled by this headline. |

1. This is Hockeybuzz.
2. This what most would call “bullpoop”.
Stick around, you’ll find those 2 go hand-in-hand. |

Hughes is not on LTIR, I guess you didn't read it properly: https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canucks |

Sorry, miss-read that. But still is LTIR space true space for trades acting as a 3rd party? I suppose it would be if you are certain that the players occupying it are certain not to return.

Friedman said the chances of the Oilers adding Karlsson is 1 in a million now. Seems more likely that they would add a depth forward - Bjugstad, Lafferty, Barbashev. Then maybe a depth d-man - Schenn, maybe dump Puljujarvi and make room for Klingberg. Sanheim was an E3. - Cooleus
Yeah but Ek says the Canucks are going to retain part of that million, so the chances are actually better than that |

Canucks will only retain for Eastern teams. Not the Oilers. Maybe San Jose can trick the Canucks into thinking they are trading Karlsson to Philly. But then Philly turns around and trades him to Edmonton. Could happen. |

When you said Hughes wasn't on CapFriendly my first instinct was that New Jersey acquired him. That was an E3 a couple weeks ago. The desire to unite the brothers is strong. |

I'm not sure what that means. I'll have to go to TSN and check it out. |

If the Canucks become a third team to eat salary it would be with someone like Kane who is on an expiring contract. Finding a third team for Karlsson is much more difficult because he has 5 years left on his contract including this season. |

At least they (sort of) have experience with that. Remember when Ottawa traded (power forward) Mike Hoffman to SJ to keep him out of the conference and the Sharks traded Hoffman to Florida a couple hours later?

Bingo! Maybe for the right price the Canucks would eat a small amount (say $1-2M). But for a team to eat a significant amount of salary for 5 years, they must be prepared for a long-term structural rebuild. Vancouver is likely hoping to become relevant again in that 5 year window, so there is now way they'll eat $5M+ in salary. Maybe a team like Chicago, Anaheim, Arizona, Columbus is thinking they are 4-5 years away. Smarter move for San Jose is to eat 50% and extract a greater return. Sharks future is ugly so might as well stockpile picks and start over. |

I thought the main priority for Pittsburgh was to add Jake Allen? |
