JVR intrigues me as a top 9 player. I think in a situation where he is on the 3rd line he would do well. The Jets could have the potential to create some match-up problems.
I would also be willing to take a flyer on Boeser. I would be intrigued to see how that right handed shot does with PLD as his center.
I still think that Erik Karlsson is the way to go! Provides both offence and defence. |

Jeannot and Ekholm would be big from Nashville, but way too expensive.
I think Chicago and Arizona remain possible partners.
Domi, Chycrun, Schmaltz, Ritchie and Bgujstad. All names that could help.
Jets are conservative and have their hands tied with the no-trade guys but I hope they stay active and add.
Our bottom 6 has been awful for 15 games and needs to be shaken up |

Not every player in the league has a no trade clause. This what a good GM would know. If we don’t go all-in this year, we need to #firechevy. |

Was your takeaway that I thought all players had NTC’s 😂😂?
The point was we don’t have the pick of the whole field. Which is another disadvantage of this marketplace. |

Flames will be quickly established as sellers after the next few games. Can we interest you in a Toffoli? 1year left good salary &one f the few forwards we have that can actually hit the damn net? 2023 1st & B prospect would be my price tag. - Kevin R
I think Toffoli would be an awesome addition for the right price.

I wonder if Blake Wheeler will ever decide to shoot the puck on PP ever again?
I mean, you have to shoot the puck to score and let's see from now till the end of the season if Blake Wheeler ever decides to take a shot on goal. Not a tap in, an actual shot.
I am thinking no, but let's see.
Edit: Yep, he did!! |

Wpg now in 1st Wild Card spot.
Next practice should be spent on how to hit the net when shooting. Maybe they can bring in a consultant to go over the basics of hitting the net..... when they do decide to shoot. |

If we look at the first half of the season the Jets were awesome and 4th in the NHL I don't see a huge difference in the lineup. The only big difference was that Ehlers was out with an injury. Also, we had a few other injuries. The lineup really isn't that much different. That begs the question is it Fly that is the problem here ? The Jets have never really found the right line for Fly, and never had any real lasting chemistry with anyone. If Chevy wants to make an interesting trade for someone else with term then maybe Ehlers should be part of it ? Unfortunately Karlsson wont likey want to come to the Peg but if he did then Ehlers and a 1st might get that trade done.
Ehlers aside. It not rocket science to figure out when you watch many of the top teams that their top lines rarely change over the years unless injuries come into play. Why are the Jets coaches always playing the blender game with them? How do teammates get used to each other when they are constantly getting switched around?

And the jets buyers?
Sorry to be negative here but I was giving this team at least 50 games before I would get excited by them. They are basically the same team as last year. Great years by Helley and Morrisey. Same with Schief (better than last year) and Pierre Luc (1 foot out of Winnipeg) Dubois.
Realistically if it wasn’t for Helley, this team would not be where it is today.
Different level of game by teams since the Allstar break and jets have not elevated their game to the level that is needed.
Make the playoffs and see what happens.
If they miss the dance then time for huge changes. With Chevy at the helm this will not happen.

So, I have wondered this myself as the game against Jersey I believe, he looked like Burmistrov. If you could guess where he was going, good on you cuz I am sure his line mates had no idea.
When ever he goes down, whether he falls down or gets hit, he slides on his knees down the ice looking toward the rafters. He doesn't pop back up when this happens and now the play is strides going the other direction. I can;t see a coach being very impressed with that disrespectful display.
He has been doing this act for a number of years now. I agree he does not gel with his line mates and I seriously question his IQ. When he is going north south, which is what he does with speed, everything is good but I seriously doubt that any of his line mates know which direction he is going or where he is going.
If you recall, there was evidence that Chevy offered him up to Carolina straight up for Brett Pece and they said no. Correct me if I am wrong on that one, but I also suggested a few games ago that if things continue to go sideways, he gets traded in summer. Maybe it happens sooner, but I believe you are bang on, and I am being serious with this post. |

The early season success was a mirage and circumstantial, other teams hadn't figured themselves out yet and Colorado and St. Louis were ravaged by injuries, had they been healthy the Jets aren't hanging around 1st or 2nd place, they'd of been in 3rd, 4th or 5th and then the discussion/narrative would be very different.
Idk why this is a surprise, this team is worse then it was last season since they no longer have Copp and Stastny.
This team only has four legit top 6 players, Perfetti and Wheeler are 3rd liners, Appleton is a 3rd liner and the rest are 4th liners or AHLers, sorry but thats not the lineup of a champion. The D core is middling at best and even thats a stretch, Helle isn't a miracle worker!
While the Nino Neittereiter pickup is a good one it'll take a lot more then just him to turn this team into more then a first round exit. |

81-80-27 was a great line!! Maybe our best all year and bones changed it to try and get the other line going.
Our PP has also been best when 27 is on the top unit.
This teams problem for the past 3 years is over accommodating Wheeler and always changing things to try and get him going, when in reality he is now a third liner who shouldn’t be on the PP |

Guys come on!!
Ehlers leads this team in points per minute every year!!! Every year!!!He is our best forward. Figure out a way to play him more not less. You don’t trade your best player on a great contract
Maybe just maybe the reason this team has struggled the last few years is coaches constantly not realizing this and pandering to the older core |

San Jose essentially got the equivalent of Morgan Baron, Ville Heinola and a first round pick for Meier.
And, Chevelasllseasonoff could not pull that off? Worst GM in the league #firechevy!

Yeah Wheeler is toast, been for awhile now, he hurts more then he helps and keeping him on the 1st PP is detrimental. |

Looks like Julien Brisbois (Tampa Bay GM) is drunk or something. Tanner Jeannot just got Nashville a 2025 first round pick, 2024 second round pick and a 3rd, 4th and 5th round 2023 draft picks + Cal Foote.
Imagine what Adam Lowry could have fetched the Jets? |

Unfortunately this is the teams second biggest problem. The biggest problem has been guaranteeing Lowry’s position as the third line center. |

Pretty sure Zetterlund would have a higher ceiling then Morgan "I can only score on an empty net" Barron has.
Yeah Heinola and Mahkmadullin are probably pretty even.
Idk how highly ranked that Okhotiuk is, he was a late 2nd rounder in the 2019 draft, his AHL numbers are nothing special. A 2023 1st and a 2024 2nd that could turn into a 2024 1st so it isn't a small package, there's a lot of assets there that conservative Chevy just wouldn't part with.
Also pretty sure it was reported yesterday or today that Meier said he wouldn't extend with the Jets so that ended that, zero chance Chevy would part with those assets for a guy he couldn't sign. |

The second 1st rnd pick is a conditional 2nd round pick. The conditions are 1. Meier must play 50% of the games in 2023 and 2. The Devils must make it three rounds in 2023 or 2024. So possibly two first-round picks and some promising talent for a pending RFA. Again they will likely get at least one of those 1st rounders and a prospect back next year if Meier doesn't sign. |
