Yea if he had 1 year left on his deal, I think a ton of teams would be interested. He's had a "down" year, especially 5 on 5, but he's still nearly a point per game player. Classic Jim Rutherford shooting himself in the foot.

The term for 7 years is crazy, but I guess from the Penguins end, the next 2 or 3 years are it and then the tanking starts again.
