That was both Mikkola's & Harpur's best games as Rangers. However, when Harpur was initially given regular playing time, he was holding his own paired with Schneider, resulting in Drury extending his contract. That prior to struggling at times thereafter until last evening against the Kings as one of 4 d'men only in their lineup.

Maybe the way to get the best out of the two might be alternating Mikkola and Harpur, maybe in a 2:1 ratio.

Just a simple post for Jan.
My prayers for your daughter to make a speedy recovery, after learning of the news tonight when first logging on here.
In addition, how are you yourself coming along with your accidental leg injury from some weeks or couple months back, while scrambling to catch your flight I believe out West? My prayers there for you on both matters.

I heard word today that in addition to still cleaning the path in every which means to fit in Kane, Drury would not be done yet before Friday's deadline. I can't recall the outside source (non Rangers reporter) who mentioned specifically he was still seeking help on defense.

If true, then besides Lindgren likely being idle for longer than we were led to believe, Drury will need to be cap creative once again. But that would likely be on a lesser scale involving just the trade partner having that backline help, with that partner possibly having to also retain some cap pending the nature and value of the piece(s) heading their way.

Kane scores a goal in every game he plays as a Ranger

Take this for what it's worth, but one of the team reporters at the intermission break of this Hawks/Ducks game gave an update to the Kane situation and said "probably a 2nd round pick" is the compensation for the deal.

Not sure if it was a slip up, but I would assume he has some sort of intel rather than giving a mock guess of what he would expect of a hypothetical trade on-air.

Haven't seen a trade return specified anywhere so this was the first time hearing any kind of detail.

I assume that 2:1 ratio of alternating Mikkola and Harpur you are suggesting is based primarily on a game by game basis when using the norm of 6 d'men with Mikkola playing in 2 of every 3 games to Harpur's 1 every 3.

That in contrast to a 2:1 number of shifts per game basis if going with 7 d'men dressed and 1 less forward in the lineup, which is less likely when Kane ultimately arrives. That unless Lindgren when returning to the lineup ends up eventually having to play through some nagging pain from his injury not being 100% healed.

I meant game by game, should have been more specific. Itll be especially necessary during the playoffs I feel.

I think the fan base settled at Zac Jones and a 2nd for Kane, however it could be just the 2nd.

Heres some updates on the youngsters not named Othmann:
Ryder Korczak, 23g 34a in 39gp for Moose Jaw
Will Cuylle continues to score goals and is up to 18 goals.
Adam Sykora has 8g 13a in 36gp in Slovak league, not bad for a kid who turned 18 in Sept.

I think it might be another prospect instead of Jones. God forbid there is an injury to Fox, he is our only "offensive" defenseman remaining as a backup. My guess would be someone like Ryder Korczak or similar type player. We shall see...

In that, I think the bigger problem isnt just losing our PPQB but also the fact that we have no one to play RD if one of them gets hurt.

You know who I’m excited for? Matthew Rempe, 6’8 240 and can throw em. Supposedly not bad on his skates either. Our own homegrown Boogeyman right there.

I thought you meant on a game by game ratio basis per my mentioning that to begin my reply to you. But I was considering the 2:1 shifts ratio as well, only should the need arise to have 7 d'men in the lineup, per the Lindgren injury situation I mentioned in reply possibly warranting it, but hopefully not.

Based on his numbers all the way through his career til now, Cuylle seems to be one of those 25g 15/20a kinda players. Just a guy that loves to shoot and picks up his assists mainly off rebounds.

I bet it’s conditional tho, SCF appearance or something. You guys were getting hammered in this regardless. No way would Drury was jumping through so many hoops to get this done if it was going to cost an arm and a leg to do it. Y
Sucks I get it. Just root for him here, apparently we need more support

I’d be happy if Cuylle could turn into Dubinsky minus the injuries

What’s up with Trivigno? Didn’t they jump through other hoops to get him? Maybe he can play RW
