Rangers couldn't keep him. Not in the stage they were in. Especially after the letter. |

I was happy with the return but hated seeing him go. Now with Chytil's emergence i don't even think of it. Hayes was the perfect 3rd line center though. |

If Chytil could learn to win more faceoffs it would make a world of difference. But he's been great besides that |

Chiefs has soft hands. White collar workers are the best. Although JRR's hands are like a ribbed condom, so there is something to be said for calluses |

It's not unprecedented for a center to improve their faceoff numbers but his are so bad (40.0% career) for so long that I just don't see it ever getting to a place where he's reliable in that area. So long as we have Mika and Trocheck at over 50% and whoever we inevitably replace Goodrow with on the 4th line doing the same it'll be ok. |

Not saying he's as good as the player I'm going to mention but Jack Hughes is also terrible at the faceoff dot. Just keep putting up point and out playing the opponent 5 on 5. All you could really ask for from Chytil. |

Holy crap I did not realize Hughes was that bad at faceoffs. 35%, every year, consistently. |

Yup. The only time I could see it as an issue is if they get stuck out there in a close game on a defensive draw for an icing.
Good thing is I don't think that line ices the puck much. Wonder if there is a stat for that. Like which line has the most icings. |

Yup. Pretty much where I'm at. Some players just never get better at the dot, think Chytil will be one of them. |

Asked Braden Schneider what the last few days have been like for him: "They explained the situation to me, and a guy like (Kane) is a pretty special player. I think it definitely made us better and it was a thing that needed to be done, so it make sense. Happy to do my part" #NYR
He didnt throw a hissy fit and demand to be traded? What a stud! |

In defense of the player you are probably referencing, the situation is nowhere near the same. Schneider is a key piece of our D core and is in no danger of losing his spot. That is not to say I agree with the player who will not be mentioned huffing and puffing and stamping his feet last season. Just that it's very different.
Also, I wonder how long until we get busted for someone like Panarin covering Scheider's lost salary from being sent down. |
