Likely Toronto and Carolina have more desirable prospects but I am guessing it is a combination of picks and a prospect the Coyotes haul must contain. It is what they should receive or just do not trade him.
Remember Klingberg could be traded too

How in the world could the Islanders trade for Jakob Chickenrun? They don’t have any prospects because Lou trades all his draft picks, and they don’t have any first round picks because Lou trades all his draft picks. So where is this coming from? (EBS) |

Hextall is so stupid he'll probably make a lateral transfer by including Petterson in the deal. Then Sullivan will continue playing a broken Dumoulin on the top pair and wonder why the defense is not better. |
|
|
|
What is the update that there are less teams able to make the trade now?
I don’t think AZ needs to make this trade now and will hold up for what they want. Which GM left with assets is desperate enough to go all in? |

Are the Caps in on Chychrun as well? I live in the Washington market and there seems to be a media consensus they are making a play for him |
|
|
|
Chychrun is under contract so doesn't need to be traded. If someone pays the asking price then they'll move him. If not, they can do it at the draft, or at the deadline next year.
Same with Karlsson, Boeser, Gibson, Edmundson, etc...
Have said this all along. You were talking about Buchnevich and Parayko while I said watch out for O'Reilly and Barbashev. Nearly all of the guys traded so far were pending UFAs or RFAs who wouldn't be qualified. This is no different than any other year. |

Does seem to be more activity this year. And larger package deals happening. |

This is probably just recency bias. Last deadline there were 33 trades and 54 players moved. Also big names - Giroux, MAF, Giordano, Hagel, Toffoli, Rakell, Lehkonen, Copp, Josh Manson, Chiarot, Lindholm. Nothing new. |

Honestly if we could get even a 5th for either Kulikov or Klankburg... it would be a massive haul...

Here is a trade that Fletcher should but is too incompetent to pull off.
Flyers get Matthew Savoie, Mats Lingren, 2024 1st and 2025 3rd
Buffalo gets Carter Hart, Travis Sanhiem

According to a Cap Friendly tweet yesterday, in the 10 years prior to this year there have been an average of 17.6 trades during the 14 days leading up to the trade deadline. The LA/CBJ trade was #28 this year and there are two days left before Friday. So there's definitely more early activity and likely more total trades when it's all over but maybe it will slow down. I suspect my Avs have a few under the radar cards up their sleeves. MacK's old Halifax line mate is on an expiring contract... |
