Rebuilding and depleted, like how they compete, still should get a good draft pick.

Perfect scenario

the flyers have a short, young, inexperienced GM now too!

well MSL is the coach, but details shme-tails, right..?

so Brière is by interim only? I always thought he looked a bit timid outside the rink but I'm sure he'd do a much better job as GM (hard to imagine he'd do worse than Fletcher lol).

I mean, I get the frustration with the medical updates... but if there are no real updates, not sure what you expect them to say.

well, for example, Gallagher was recently wearing a boot, it's very clear he won't be back this season, but it's as though they still want to leave it as a possibility. they're always (frank)ing around with what's actually going on lol

so with experience I guess? I think it would be good to get someone completely outside of the Flyers' good ol' boys.

I don't see it that way, at all.

My issue has never been with the information they give us, because quite frankly, that is not relevant.

What I am more concerned about is what they do with players when they are injured, making sure injured players get fully healed, not letting nagging injuries become bigger problems. Also, ensuring players are given preventative training and education (which they should have in this day and age already, but you know, kids and bro culture...)

That has been the big issue.

i think it's time to flush all of the good ol' boys. they all have good intentions, i'm sure, but i just think it's more than time to move on from the bill barbers and bobby clarkes. i wouldn't mind if they sold the team to someone else either.

meh, I get what you mean but I do find it annoying they're being much more secretive than before. fans that pay big money to see the games should know what to expect, at least a bit more than this. to each his own.

but I agree on the injury management, hopefully they'll look into this because it's insane the number of injuries that have been accumulating.

If a player is out 3 weeks or 3 months - what difference does it make knowing that?

Unless you are gambling or a poolie...

None really.

it's good to have someone with a "fresh" perspective, like Hughes and Gorton in MTL, they have no actual history with the organization and they don't owe anything to anyone that was previously there.

but why not simply share the information? might as well not give any at all. call me crazy but I find it's nice to know when players for the team I cheer for are actually coming back, instead of being left in the dark about it.

we all got very jaded and lost perspective and didn't realize how important this dude was:

what a great guy. what an important guy. he was at the top for my entire life so i never saw a day coming where someone running the flyers didn't care as much as he did.

I don't know much about him but I agree there seemed to be much more passion throughout the organization when he was there. hopefully these management changes will help bring back that spark.

i think they have a lot more work to do but this morning was definitely a first step in the right direction. let's just hope there are steps to follow this one.

but yeah, ed was the best.

I'm pretty sure the fanbase in general is relieved about this decision... gotta start somewhere
