I don't think there is any doubt that Tortorella doesn't like Frost but there is a history with Tortorella. How his player decisions are often not rational. That doesn't change that what the poster insinuated was said in that pre-game presser wasn't actually said. Tortorella actually criticized Tippet. - MJL
Listen, its clear to anyone that has half a brain that Torts was criticizing Frost stating that he is not consistent and implied that Frost was holding Tippet back. The fact that Torts also criticized Tippet is not relevant. Every chance he gets that Torts makes it clear Frost is not his guy, and I have no doubt Frost will be traded this off season. Now given you all think Frost is having a great season, at least he should have some trade value, and will get a fresh start on a new team. Everyone wins.
Hey at least we are getting closer to getting a really good player. Perhaps Will "Slappy" Smith! - MBFlyerfan
Here's my problem with Will Smith ... there is no way a player with this name will be any good. The name is everything in a player ... Peter Forsberg, Eric Lindros, Sidney Crosby, Cale Makar ..... and then ..... Will Smith? Nah .. Give me Fantilli!
The Oilers are going to squeak into the playoffs again this season and might even win a playoff round, but most likely will have another disappointing season given they have 4 players this season that are scoring over a 1 point per game. Serious question; would the Oilers entertain trading Draisaitl this off season to get better defensively? If so, what would the Flyers have to trade the Oilers to get him? Would Hart, Provey and their 1st round pick get it done? If so, would you do it? - jd250

It was dumb. It definitely hampered his development at the time. And for what? Bringing players up too young when not fully ready can only hurt.
does it ultimately change harts career? Time will tell. But they definitely are dumb for the move. Just another factor in firing gm to bias for action that makes them look dumb. - SMS4016
I don’t know. I don’t think that situation made the Flyers looked dumb. They had to use 8 goaltenders, all of them got hurt at some point, 3 of them were prospects in the Flyers system in Alex Lyon, Anthony Stolarz and Carter Hart. I think two were waiver claims, so it’s not like we were shelling out assets. I believe Vegas had used four goalies this season to stay above water. I don’t think they look dumb.
I guess you’d have to tell me why you feel this way.
Lmmfao. I mean this as no offense to you or bill but if you believe that you live in la la land.
Newsflash I live in buffalo.
Adams has stated that that’s exactly what they want. A stopgap.
He’s stated the team will NOT block levy’s path.
This isn’t my opinion.
This is what the Sabres organization has come out and said.
So you saying buffalo would not pay the high cost to acquire hart to not be the future is laughable.
Again no offense but you and bill are spewing a believe based on opinion.
Everything Buffalo has SAID and DONE has been consistent.
So what’s more credible ?
1) what buffalo has said and done …
OR
2) some flyers fans post and a flyers blogger OPINION? - SMS4016
Great that you live in Buffalo but what is missing here? Has the Sabres organization come out and said that they would trade their first round pick or other top assets for Carter Hart to be a stop gap? Then, you might have a point.
I would like to tell you what's not credible and respond to the other hyperbole in your post but I must refrain.
Oh so bill is now saying levy is same prospect level as hart? Ok so why would buffalo in 2 years pay hart his big contract instead of going with cheaper player. Especially if they are roughly the same? Makes sense. Oh because 2 years prior they gave up an asset? That makes ZERO SENSE.
Like I said if levy bust out then yes. If not there no chance they’d pay hart - SMS4016
LOL, no Bill has not said that. I don't think explaining it again would lead anywhere. Bill posted his opinion in plain and simple language.
Hard no from me. Hart was a 2nd round draft pick himself, first goalie off the board. At 24 and still an RFA after his deal, including 7 years of development and the experience he already has as an NHL goalie, that is worth more than a 3rd. That’s a bad trade. It sets the team back. There is a tiny NHL sample with Ersson so far. Considering the development time on picks taken there, the return isn’t enough to take the risk IMO. - NC Flyers Fan
I didn't post a 3rd. I posted a 2nd and a 3rd. Any trade of Hart is going to set the team back.
Who is in hockey ops that was there when briere was?
- SMS4016
Nobody that is there now. That's why there is no connection.
I know you don’t have any credible radio in Philly regarding hockey. But here in Buffalo we do. Like I said biron and others been talking hart here. Does biron have ties to briere? Philly? I think so.
I’ll also add briere still comes to buffalo.
Buffalo fo people do plenty of radio interviews here. From adams on down.
Their position is well known.
- SMS4016
Biron is a radio and TV analyst and not a member of the Sabres hockey ops. If you're saying that thier position is that they would trade high level assets for Carter Hart as a two year stop gap without wanting to re-sign him, I'd be happy to take a look at any documentation you have of that.
Does it happen hart to buffalo? Idk. Even Sabres blogger on hb talking about possible hart trade.
I think it’s safe to say if briere wants Buffalo to know hart is available and he’s looking for something from buffalo he could easily get that info out on the down low back channels. - SMS4016
Back channels. LOL. Or Briere could just call the Buffalo GM and ask if he has any interest in Hart. That's another way to go.

It wouldn't get it done. If the Flyers are genuine about "rebuilding" . Why would they make that deal? Then they'd have an elite center who is 27 and no #1 defenseman or proven starting goaltender. How does that fit together?
Another serious question; if the Flyers end up picking 5th in this year's draft, should the Flyers try to trade up to the 2nd spot to land Fantilli? I think they should. If you would also, what would you have to trade the team holding the 2nd pick to make this happen? - jd250

I watched both the video of the pre game press conference and read the transcript. Tortorella did not say any of that. He did not criticize Frost nor did he imply or suggest in anyway that Frost was holding Tippet back. The only player that was criticized in that sequence was Tippett.
That "you all" think Frost is having a great season is rhetoric and hyperbole on your part. Nobody that I'm aware of, including myself has used the adjective great to describe Frost as a player or the season he is having. I will say however that Frost is having as good if not a better season than Tippet is.

I hear and understand why anyone would want to trade Ivan Provorov. Regardless of feelings towards him, we’ve seen his high’s and low’s and Chuck had done him no favors in terms of getting him a partner. I think I’d be more comfortable moving Provy if we maybe drafted David Jiricek but instead Chuck made the worst kind of move by drafting Cutter Gauthier.

How often do 21 year old goalies get called up and stay the whole season? Almost never?
How many gm’s get fired for not calling up said goalies? Or at least in part? None.
The whole situation was dumb. Bias for action was directly part of calling up hart if you remember. Or at least in part.
Hart wasn’t ready for nhl. Dude couldn’t even cook a meal or do his laundry. He wasn’t ready physically or mentally. That’s why flyers were dumb and looked dumb.
Yes they needed a goalie to play. They always have options. They wanted hexy out and bringing up hart was part of plan to sell to fans.
Could he have come up for a spot game and it have been fine? Yep. But they kept him. That’s the dumb part

First let's get some facts straight. Hart was called up to the Flyers when he was 20. Not 21. I agree that Hart was up too early.

last I checked the GM makes trades and I do believe the rumor is Danny likes Frost
