With what, 13 games left, I wouldn't get to into making a point with Drouin. Pretty much all of the players will see how it goes in the fast approaching off season, and if the Habs show zero interest, the message will be heard by those returning players.

Exactly, MSL did what was appropriate, but not overboard. It isn't about Drouin, it is about how this is perceived by those who will be here next season. The setting of expectations for this young group will be important, eh

yeah, in the clip where he's talking about it, MSL only mentions "we'll start with that", referring to suspending him from practice, and then confirming that it hadn't been determined yet if Drouin would play or not against Tampa. for some reason though the way it was reported made it sound like he was benching him for sure.
