I always liked Schenn, so I was for sure biased when we got him.
But I also thought that Dubas bringing him in would also result in Holl getting gone. Because that makes perfect sense. Instantly making the team better. - GreatGigInTheSky
Holl gets the Jake Gardiner treatment, but honestly, Rielly's as bad defensively, possibly worse. |

Sure they got outshot but who GAS? They won!
Lol
But seriously The line up from Tampa was the best they have. The Leafs had a dman playing wing who had never played wing.
Tampa with 8 power plays also which impacts shots.
What do the shots on net look like if it’s best on best? Likely a lot closer I would think.

Still can't believe the Jays haven't fired Rivera.
Or at the very least moved him to the bench. |

You're gonna hate to hear it but I prefer Holl play in the playoffs over Liljegren right now.
I'm a huge Liljegren supporter, but Keefes sewered him a bit and he hasn't been the same since. He's looking vulnerable. Holl on the other hand has become less mistake prone, he's playing a bit more with his size... And I'm liking his playoff experience at that point over Liljegren playing a bit scared.

They just aren’t used to seeing penalties called when it’s a Tampa player committing the foul I guess. Lol
The best was when they were chanting it and the Leafs scored. Lol
Re: being outshot. Remember a week or so ago a conversation about reminiscing about the Eddie the Eagle vs Ottawa days - when the Leafs were routinely outshot.
This game reminded me of those ones a bit.
And holy Jays! The bats woke up! |

Sabres are done.
Pittsburgh has 1 lifeline but they did a really good job of screwing their chances tonight. |

Interesting perspective- I hadn’t thought of that.
I do know Jake McCabe HAS to be in the top 6 no doubt same for Schenn (at least to start).
It’s so weird to see the Leafs have depth at D. A nice weird thought.
They have depth up front too, I’m pretty happy with what Dubas has done this year, actually I’m very happy about it. |

We'll have to agree to disagree on that.
And it's not just defensively. It's everything. He's the absolute worst with the puck. Try to dump it out? Turnover. Try to pass to a teammate? Takes 5 seconds longer than he should and it either gets picked off or he missed his teammate by 5 feet.
Think he leads the league in goals screening the goalie. Which would be excellent, if it wasn't his own goalie he does it to. |

Ya I was hoping too.
Dubas did get rid of 2 out of my 3 least favs, Engvall/Sandin. Can't have it all I guess. |

I agree that he's not playing as good as he was before Keefe inexplicably threw him under the bus, but he's still absolutely playing better than Holl. And it's not even close, imo. |

He can't read the ball. At all. Today, for no reason, he threw up a stop sign to Varsho (who probably would've scored without a throw even), and then after he stopped (which forced him to hit the brakes hard), waived him to go home. But he couldn't anymore. Game was close at that point and the run was needed.
The Jays players routinely ignore him anyways. Some people even tried to give Bo poop last week for running through his stop sign (even though he scored with ease). |

Think you might have blinders on for this one friend, but when it comes to Holl blinders are always the betting favourite. 😂 |

I'm really happy with what Dubas has done, but I really wish Keefe would have put the blender away and got it more in sync prior to the playoffs.
McCabe/Brodie
Rielly/Schenn
Giordano/Holl
That's my game 1 pairings. 🤷 |
