I think Boston would annihilate them. They're just not a good team, even with arguably the best goalie in the world.

I think Florida would give Boston a good showing and they're a dirty team with rats that could make it an insanely physical series.

And added bonus, Habs don't get another lottery chance.

If they don't get Woll under emergency conditions...Nick Chenard, who dressed last night, is only eligible for one game under ATO rules. This could really be something.

The saving grace is this one does not matter for playoff seeding. TOR dressed Samsonov last night in a game of mortal significance for four other teams.

Leafs 100% should've played the PTO goalie yesterday as a giant (frank) you to Bettman.

They should sign noodles and have him mic’d up like an all star game.

As noted in the last blog, I don't know if this is true, but Capfriendly believed that the NHL should allow the Leafs to call up Woll today under emergency conditions. They ruled that in yesterday's game, the Leafs had created their own emergency, but now that they are in the condition, an exception should be made.

It’s up to Gary and hinges on whether an injury to a Dman allows you to call up a goalie. Their current “emergency” isn’t alleviated by calling up Woll. It could go either way. I think Gary allows it because of how bad the League looks if they play an ATO.

Noting that the most a team can move up in the NHL draft lottery is 10 places, so Florida would give the Habs a #6 pick at best. Unlikely, at any rate.

I have to admit I can't think of who I want to miss the playoffs more - Florida for letting Brunette go in favour of Maurice, or the Islanders because the audacity of trading for Horvat with an aging and declining team irritates me.

I mean maybe they both lose and Buffalo and Pittsburgh makes it? It would make for 8 quick games for Boston and Carolina, but there would be satisfaction.

I'm sure the Leafs are on this.

If the league hadn't told them by 9 am this morning that Woll could rejoin the team, they would have signed another goalie to a PTO and flown him down to Tampa.

I'm not worried.

Trust me when I tell you I've been on him to ensure he has everything documented and he has.

Lawyer is a must for sure, was trying to see if anyone really knew the difference/implications of the different divorce routes and how it might impact other things - seems like that'll be a lawyer conversation for him.
