He wasn't healthy enough for the last game of the regular season, but he had the 2nd most amount of ice time for all Tampa forwards in the 1st game of the playoffs, while scoring a goal and an assist.

CAP applies in the playoffs. But for reasons related to the the dark arts and bribery - they never will. Until the Leafs try it... then all of a sudden it will become necessary.

The Leafs did try it. They kept Riley Nash on LTIR so they could bring Freddie back and then started Nash in the first game of the playoffs.

Also, CBA would need to be changed to do what you suggest

I'm a beer league hack goalie and I'd play in a heartbeat even if I got lit up like a Christmas tree for 20 goals. Once in a lifetime opportunity.

Hell I was pumped to get to play against Marcel Dionne and some other retired pros and DID get lit up like a Christmas tree!

Side note re: playoff format suggestion.

If you finish 1st you get to choose your 1st round opponent, if you finish 2nd you get to pick 2nd etc just for poops and giggles.
