Even IF Colorado comes back and beats Seattle, they ain't winning the cup with their current team.

Probably.

I put Edmonton for the cup but I hesitated between them and Dallas for a long time.

I almost feel Dallas has the edge considering how great Oettinger looks out there.

He's looking much better over there than he did with us.

Another proof that sometimes players are just a better fit elsewhere.

it may be a matter of a better fit, but also a matter of playing with purpose, perhaps he's much more motivated in the playoffs than with a rebuilding team...

Oh for sure.

At the same time, if he played well during the season, he could have found a taker much sooner, while also ensuring he'd get a nice contract for next season. So he had motivations to play well even in Montreal.

totally agreed, it was always in his best interest to give his 100%. but sometimes players just can't find their mojo under certain circumstances, even if they really want to... anyway good for him if he has success and does well in these playoffs.

At first I thought the Gurianov gamble was interesting.

Right now, I think I'd rather have a 4th round pick.

yeah that didn't pay off all that much either lol... there's no way the habs are matching that qualifying offer.

I don't think they will either.

And even if they could offer him less for him to stay, odds are Gurianov didn't feel "the magic" either and will likely want to try elsewhere.

besides, the habs already have Armia that hasn't been "feeling the magic" throughout his whole career...

Another big win for HuGo!

Matheson exceeded expectations by a long shot. Hopefully he can keep that up and stay healthy next year.

Makes the decision to move Edmundson (or possibly even Savard) a lot easier.

- Mashadar

this

But Keep Savard.

He was key to stabilizing the backend

Gustavsson has been better than him all year and Fleury blew it in the only game he got.

The only difference he would have made is that the series would have ended in 5.
