Another big win for HuGo!

Matheson exceeded expectations by a long shot. Hopefully he can keep that up and stay healthy next year.

Makes the decision to move Edmundson (or possibly even Savard) a lot easier.

they aren't the same type of defensemen though, but I get what you're saying. it would be more logical to try to move Edmundson since he's basically damaged goods, but other teams know this as well lol

Yeah, not necessarily both, but they are gonna have to give way in the next 18 months, I think.

Having Matheson back there to lead the group of younger players is a good thing, too. He is mobile and fast - that fits into Marty's game plan.

Savard may not be as quick, and I know you aren't a big fan of his, but he's a good veteran presence to have as well.

I think they should keep Savard. Too many rookies on the blue line last season. You need some good vets on a rebuilding team as well. And Savard is a RHD, mtl weak side.

I expect Edmundson to be back next season. He missed too many games with his back problems for a team to bite. Maybe at next year deadline. Its not the end of the world.

Savard is fine, but there is too much youth coming up for him to have a long-term place on the team. He did a great job with the kids last year, but he will be easily replaced, probably a TDL deal to be made.

I do not see both Edmundson and Savard back.

One will be gone.

only keeping Matheson as "the" veteran presence on the backend may not be such a great idea imho.

agree to disagree

Hughes was forced to used 5 rookies on the blue line last season. It was not the plan, he said so himself.

One vet on the blueline is not enough.

And with the number of injuries they have to deal with...yeah.

Eddy is gone IMO, they need to make space of the left side, he has 1yr left on his contract, had some back issues early in the season. Time to move on and make space for one of the kid on the left side where they have A LOT of depth.

eh, we agree on something!

en plus si on regarde le coté droit de la défense sans Savard : Barron, Kovacevic, Wideman (lol).

J'inclus pas Mailloux a ce stade, il a jamais joué pro encore.

C'est de la sauce faible! (weak sauce).

It's working Pat!! Sales have plummeted and people are getting fired. Do your part and let these corporations know that we've had enough!
