DiMarco hinting that Eddie O is in the mix - Trox88
What does it matter? Do you think Eddie O would take a job where he's just a figure head on the hockey side? If the job title was "Head of Marketing" (which is essentially the job of the Pres in the new org chart) why would anyone not in marketing take the job?
The Flyers, putting the fun in dysfunction. The last troika was Scott, Fletcher and the country club. The new triumvirate will not be any more functional. It's going to be Tortorella doing whatever he wants and daring the team to fire him, Briere will pretend everything is normal and that he agrees with everything Torts says/does, and the Pres will be off selling Gritty dolls.

Maybe he’s not interested in being president of a team where he has no say on who the GM and coach will be - Dkos
And the Pens have since created vacancies in their FO too. |

Can you elaborate on "longer term" for Cates? - Pelle31Forever
Something in the neighborhood of five years, which pre-empts some UFA years. He's already 24. |

Similar ballpark to Farabee I’m guessing.
As far as fedotov. Shame. He had a lot of promise and is a big guy. Thought we would have a goalie controversy when he was signed to come over. If hart is traded hope he could still get over, but the refs status issue is interesting as he could just be a free agent. |

That's the nature of NHL/KHL relations right now, and could be that way for years to come
And some of you don't think this will be on the minds of NHL GMs at the draft when Michkov is still on the board? I predict Michkov will drop like a stone. |

An AHL player like Frost leading an NHL team in ES points over an 82 game season is proving very difficult for certain people to cope with. - Feanor
Frost improved as the year went along, thanks in large part to John Tortorella and his coaching staff, there is no doubt about it. I am as happy as anyone to see Frost develop, because I care more about the Flyers getting back to prominance than I do about my prediction being right. However, a word of caution. If I were you I would suspend the victory lap until you see which Frost shows up next season, the one that started this season or the one that ended this season. |

One of or both Provy and Sanheim should be traded so we would have to keep him - 2Real
Given DeAngelo's stock is way down right now given the way the season ended, I think its best for the Flyers to hold onto him going into next season, try to build him back up (so Torts, that means no more fights and benchings .. play nice!) and trade him at the deadline to a contending team. |

He may drop a few slots but not many. As I have posted numerous times already, the Capitals 2022 first rounder just agreed to terminate his contract with his KHL team and signed an entry level deal.
The Flyers would be INSANE to pass on Michkov if by some MIRACLE he dropped to pick #7.

all the kids took a step forward this year. why i don't think he's the best coach, most are to bias to give him any credit.

well cates was in his first full nhl season as was frost and Tippet. So is taking a step forward just natural progression?

Flyers will 100% not draft him, sorry to tell you. First time GM isn’t taking that risk |

If he is there at #7 (which I doubt) they WILL ABSOLUTELY take him.

disagree. They have no balls to do that. They want for lack of a better word instant gratification. No way they want to "wait".
They should take him if he is there. |

I don’t think anyone in that range is going to be an instant gratification, there’s just no chance Danny takes a gamble like that on his first ever pick as GM |

I like how he completely ignored everything Bill said about case-by-case.
Also he apparently doesn't realize that the "Russian factor" has been going on forever. Not the first time there was a lack of a transfer agreement, political conflicts or concerns about the KHL not wanting to relinquish player rights.
Still the best of the best still went 1OA, 2OA, etc. |

I'm not sure in Hilferty's organizational vision, the President has that kind of authority anyway. Maybe the Flyers job description for President is the reason for shall we say is the rather deliberate process to fill the position. Scott needed to be replaced no doubt. Hilferty's start has been a little bumpy to start.
- Trox88
It has not been an encouraging start for Hilferty to say the least.
I'm looking to catch up on this topic...what have been some of the bumps ?
Thank you, D |
