Last time Broduer started 60 + games and the devils won: 2003. 20 years ago. Richter: 1994. Lundqvist never.
Again, the model has changed. But go off. - tomburton99

Hanks stats. What am I missing? He played over 60 games 9/15 seasons
https://www.nhl.com/playe.../henrik-lundqvist-8468685
Rask 60+ games for 5 straight seasons (2013-2017)
Sorokin (62 this year)
Hey, we all know you are never wrong, but lets stop making shiiit up like goalies playing 60+ games isn't happening. Not as much, but I just googled a few names, and it isn't something that can't/shouldn't be done...especially when a goalie is a stud like Shesty

And the Rangers never won being forced to start him that many times. Name the last goalie to start 60+ Regular season games off the top of you head. I've looked and..
Kuemper: 57
Vasilevksy: 42*
Vasilevksy": 52*
Binnington: 30
Holtby: 54
Murray: 47
Murray: 13
Crawford: 57
Quick: 49
Crawford: 28*
Quick: 69.
* Shortened season. The answer is Quick 11 years ago. Starting a goalie 60 + games is no longer the model. - tomburton99
Not sure about that. And not sure whether either of you is right or wrong, btw. But, I googled it this morning and found a website saying that Saros, Hellebuyck, Sorokin, Oettinger, Binnington, Georgiev and Vasilevskiy all played 60 or more games this season.
Now, if you want to argue the effectiveness of doing so, that's another thing. But, the practice of riding your top goalie is still alive, it seems. |

Did the Rangers win while he was doing that? No, hence the Never. - tomburton99
So...What you are saying is that any team that plays a goalie 60+ games, and doesn't win the Stanley Cup ..it is b/c they played their goalie 60+ games?
If Rask didn't play over 60 games in 2013 and 2019, I guess the Bruins wouldve won two more cups? |

"Positive direction" could mean they told Hynes he's not getting the Rangers job. That's how I choose to read it. |

Youre missing the point. Its goalie to start 60+ games AND win the Cup. |

No, he's not. The point was the model of riding your stud goaltender is dead. He disproved that. Now Tom is pivoting and trying to say because none of those goalies have won a SC, the model is unsuccessful. But one does not directly lead to the other. There are plenty of other variables that go into winning the hardest trophy in sports. So, rrentz is right. |

Lundkquist played over 60 games in almost every season he played... 5 consecutive seasons with 70 games. Since when is it a bad idea for a goalie to play 60-70 games per year? THey get off for 1 game during back to backs, and another game off when they play 3 games in 4 nights. Why do they need more off then that? Most important player on the team. Shesty BETTER get 65+ games played. He played 53 and 58 the last two seasons. I don't think his legs will fall off playing 65 games. - rrentz
