mock nhl draft on the Athletic has Rangers selecting Charlie Stramel, a big center from Wisconsin
apparently he's projected to be a much better offensive presence in his sophmore season - jimbro83
It’s pretty hard to project who gets picked #23. We may not even keep that pick |

That’s the rumor, and supposedly he wasn’t to shy about being vocal about it. - nyrangers9479
if this rumor is accurate, then the Kings game when K'Andre got thrown out for spitting, Schneider had to stay on the bench all game and Mika took that big slapshot to the ankle must have made Gallant nuts that he couldn't just roll regular lines to bring in a player he didnt want

Would die to see something funny happen involving that pick. |

Ironically, despite all the issues, they won that game. |

I was there that night. When Mika came back was one of loudest ovations I’ve heard at the Garden in years.
One of the things that got me duped into thinking some magic was coming this year. |

You were clamoring for crouse for about two seasons if I’m remembering correctly - picklerick
If not longer, lol. Exactly the kind of player we could have used. |

I can’t even imagine what the players thought about the whole thing. It was a ridiculous circus stunt that failed miserably |

I'd love to find out the truth, but, I doubt we will ever know if Gallant was on board with the whole thing, but, doesn't really matter much any more

The team in 2022 was far more suited for GG's style of play. I feel like after they epically fell apart in the ECF, Drury was like "ok, you had it your way 2022 and choked after being up 2-0, now were gonna do it my way".
Gotta say, if theres anything to take from this, Gallant is consistent. |

And failing to win a championship. But that is also the Ranger way, so maybe he was the perfect guy for the job. |

what was weird is that right after game 7 ended, Gallant was questioned about his job and was defiant about it, pointing to the two good regular seasons they had and saying his job shouldnt be in jeopardy
then the official press of him leaving the team was "Gallant and the Rangers have agreed to part ways"
and we haven't heard a peep from him since

Larry Brooks said that Drury is in Buffalo at scouting combines, there is really no point in refreshing anything to see if a coach has been hired, it's not happening any time soon
