I was looking at this site last night. Though the interactive map is down right now, it was showing over 400 active fires and something like 2 million acres burned.

Absolutely wild, that’s equivalent to almost 60% of Connecticut and 200% of Rhode Island burned. Looking at the radar and seeing a lot of rain in Quebec but clearly not enough to settle those fires down.

That would be nice. My kid is scheduled to leave Monday morning for a 3-night Grade 8 graduation trip to Quebec City.

Quick search shows standard central air filters are between 5-10 microns. That will filter out some of the particulates. Smoke/haze is around 2.5 microns or less so I am guessing that those filters will not be 100% effective but should remove the bulk of what you are seeing. They might also get dirty quicker so replacement intervals might need to be pushed up.

"Small particles of concern include 'fine particles' (such as those found in smoke and haze), which are 2.5 micrometers in diameter or less; and 'coarse particles' (such as those found in wind‐blown dust), which have diameters between 2.5 and 10 micrometers."
